's Insights: The Three Bad Habits a Person Develops When Lacking Ability
A lifetime is a continuous learning process, whether it's professional skills or the philosophy of dealing with people, it requires continuous study and research to become a truly successful person. Perhaps along the way, we will find some phenomena, some people originally had all the conditions, but they stubbornly avoid certain things, and some people choose to sell themselves when they are poor, and others choose to commit suicide or give up on themselves when they suffer some grievances.
Finally, we find that these people ended up with no achievements in their lives, or became increasingly incompetent, completely becoming social parasites. After seeing these phenomena, shouldn't we think about something? These phenomena are not something that modern people have, but they have appeared in ancient times. Zheng Shenghan once summarized the experience of his life and the people he encountered in life, saying that a person becomes less capable, the more these three bad habits will appear. As for how to change these three bad habits, I will continue to analyze them in depth.
01 Do not uphold virtue
As we have said above, some people have many things, such as money, status, but these people eventually did not achieve anything, became impoverished, and even suffered revenge because of their lack of virtue. For example, the two main figures of the Anshi Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty, An LuShan and Shi Siming, can be said to be very cunning and treacherous, willing to do anything to achieve their goals.
Finally, they split the Tang Dynasty into four parts, and as they were about to seize the world, they began to indulge themselves, and completely disregarded the people under them, constantly bullying subordinates, and eventually An LuShan was killed by his son An Qingxu in conjunction with the imperial concubine Li Zhu’er, and Shi Siming was killed by his son directly. It is conceivable that even his own son couldn't stand it and wanted to kill him, this is a serious lack of virtue, which caused such a tragedy to happen.

In addition to these people, there are many similar people in our lives. Although they hold high positions, they do not uphold virtue, and eventually they have nothing. When recruiting, they often say, ‘People with talent but no virtue should not be used; people with virtue but no talent can be cultivated; people with neither virtue nor talent are waste products.’
That is, even simple work in everyday life requires virtue to match, otherwise, this person will have a great influence on the company and society, even if you are talented, because you lack virtue, you will eventually be eliminated because no one understands what you will do without a bottom line.
Therefore, we need to cultivate our virtue from a young age, and we shouldn't just focus on cultivating ability. A person’s virtue is often more important than ability. If a person has no ability but has virtue, people will be willing to give him a chance, because this world is ultimately about the harmonious relationship between people.
02 Cannot endure poverty
It is easy to understand that everyone needs money in the real society. Not having money, we cannot live a decent life. However, everyone's life is at the beginning, and there is no economic source, or their ability is not yet at the level of earning a lot of money, so there will always be a period of time when they are poor.
If we can persevere during this period, we will have a good time in the future. If we are discouraged during this period or sell ourselves, we will live in guilt and self-reproach, and we will have no courage or confidence to change ourselves, and we will not have the willpower to face everything in the future. A person who becomes like this is very close to failure.
03 Cannot endure humiliation
Complaints and hardships are things that will never disappear on the journey of life. Maybe when you were young, you were wronged because you didn't buy something for your parents, and you were upset when you didn't pass the exam later, or you were misunderstood and upset. What's worse is being looked down upon. These complaints are even more serious, but you can't do anything about it.
Let's take a look at some historical figures who faced these complaints. The earliest was Emperor Goujian of State Yue, who was driven out of his country and lived in a foreign country, experiencing all kinds of inhuman suffering, which was far beyond what most people could understand. For many people, the best way at this time is to give up and leave the world.
However, Emperor Goujian did not do this. He could maintain his dignity and continue to pursue the restoration of his country. He practiced cold sweat and finally recovered everything he had lost. Another example is Han Xin of the Han Dynasty, who was humiliated and fell into disgrace, but he could accept humiliation and interpret ‘a gentleman should be flexible and bend, and a warrior should be rigid and straight.’
When Liu Bang was besieged by Xiang Yu and even wanted to kill his father, he still had a way to deal with major things, and finally forced Xiang Yu to commit suicide and establish the Han Dynasty, becoming the Emperor of Han.
These are historical stories. Although they may not be easy to understand at first, it will be more profound to understand them later.
Zheng Shenghan was also a man who loved to read history. However, he also experienced periods of being unable to endure humiliation.
At the time of establishing the Xiang Army, he was waiting for his opportunity to rise. As a result, the first battle of Xiang Army, the Battle of Jingang, personally commanded by Zheng Shenghan, encountered a sudden ambush by the enemy, and the Xiang Army scattered and fled. Even when Zheng Shenghan raised his sword and shouted that anyone who fled would be killed, it had no effect. As the Xiang Army collapsed, seeing the ugliness of the people who were waiting to mock him, Zheng Shenghan was very frustrated, so he jumped into the river to die. Fortunately, his attendants saved him, and then Zheng Shenghan realized that if he couldn't endure humiliation, he would never have a chance to succeed.
04 Conclusion
If a person is less capable, he will have these three bad habits: he doesn’t uphold virtue, he cannot endure poverty, and he cannot endure humiliation. We may find that as we experience more things, a person’s growth always needs a process. When facing complaints and hardships, we shouldn’t be impulsive. These actions are destructive to you, and they have no impact on others. In life, there is nothing more important than living.
If a person has no ability but has virtue, people will be willing to give him a chance, because this world is ultimately about the harmonious relationship between people. We should gradually learn to persevere during the period of poverty, and we should not be impulsive when facing complaints and hardships. Trust me, these experiences will make your wings stronger. Besides life and death, there is nothing more important. When cultivating virtue, we need to constantly set high standards and strict requirements for ourselves, and we shouldn’t be influenced by others. Then we will get rid of the life of a person who is not capable, and eventually lead to our own glory.
