Original Poem: I Stand in the Wind
I stand in the wind
Weijunru of Mudanjiang Intermediate People's Court

I stand in the wind
A slightly wrinkled red shoulder strap
I look at the entrance of the neighborhood
There are people I want to protect inside
I don't know them
Strangers, never met before
I should call them 'citizens'
Or 'the masses'
I used to think when I was sitting in the office typing
I used to think like that when I was sitting in the office typing
Now I stand at the entrance of the neighborhood
I never felt so close to them
I dissuade the elderly gentleman who goes out for a walk
Just like I dissuaded my stubborn father
I listen to the greetings passed to me by the aunt who passes by
Just like my mother's loving instructions
We are like the country's eldest sons
She is healthy
We work silently
She is sick
We guard her day and night
It's late at night
The warm lights of thousands of homes in the neighborhood
I stand in the wind
Like a flag
