Decoding Wild Animals' 'Biological Codes': A Dual Nature – Angel and Devil
On February 24th, the 16th session of the 16th Executive Meeting of the National People's Congress of the 13th Session of the National People's Congress approved the decision on comprehensively prohibiting illegal trade of wild animals, eradicating bad habits of eating wild animals, and ensuring the people's life safety and health. The decision comes into effect from the date of its publication.
Wild animals carry a large number of unknown viruses, bacteria and parasites. Data shows that 78% of newly emerging infectious diseases are related to wild animals. At the same time, these wild animals are an indispensable part of the ecological chain, playing an important ecological role in maintaining ecological balance.
