Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park
Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park, originally Harbin Animal Park (I visited it once when I was young, and I haven’t been there since), is located at 46 kilometers from the Ha Highway, No. 46, Hulan District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. It was officially opened to the public on September 28, 2004. The park covers an area of 558 hectares, which is the largest forest animal park in China in terms of area.
Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park has excellent ecological environment in its park, abundant vegetation, and forest coverage rate reaches more than 95.8%. The park and natural landscape are integrated seamlessly, it’s a natural ‘big oxygen bar’.
Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park has more than 300 species and more than 5,800 heads (animals), which is a professional park for animal breeding, protection and scientific research, it’s also a place for people to appreciate nature and recreation. The park exhibits more than 240 species and more than 5,000 heads (animals) in total, including world famous exotic animals such as White Tiger, White Lion, African Cheetah, African White Rhino, African Elephant, Gorilla, Giraffe, Hippo, Antelope, Gazelle, Horse, Zebra, Giant Panda, Chinese native animal Golden Monkey, Yangtze River Dolphin, Northeast Tiger, Asian Elephant, Elk, White-lipped Deer, Cranes, Great Bustard, White-headed Eagle, Golden Eagle, American Cuban Flamingos, American Pelican, South American Sea Lion, Australian Ostrich, Large Kangaroo; Asian Gorilla, Malayan Bear, Bengal Tiger; Polar Penguins, Polar Bears, Polar Seals. The animal species are complete, and the population is large.
Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park’s park is 3.5 kilometers deep. Starting from the main entrance area, there is a large parking lot, Lion and Tiger landmark sculpture, a restaurant complex, a commercial and service building, an office building and a battery car square. The landscape avenue is flanked by prehistorical animal fossils and animal simulation sculptures. Along the park road, you can successively admire the large raptor area, large bird language forest, birds and hall, monkey forest, golden monkey hall, primate hall, hippo hall, elephant hall, entertainment center, repair center, animal hospital, animal breeding base, totem pole, waterfowl lake, rhino hall, climbing animal zone, swan lake, giraffe hall, deer dispersal area, African animal dispersal area, polar animal hall, Northeast specialty park, birch forest landscape, panda hall, lion and tiger hall and dispersal area, children’s animal village, large animal performance hall, wild boar forest, bear dispersal area, wolf dispersal area, medium-sized ferocious beast hall.
There are 23 distinctive animal pavilions, cages and animal dispersal areas in Harbin Northern Forest Animal Park’s park; 40,000 square meters of swan lake water surface; nearly 500,000 square meters of flowers, trees and plants and 40 sets of landscape small ornaments. The park is divided into 12 functional zones: animal performance zone, including taming, marine animal, taming bird performance field and animal museum; pedestrian viewing zone, built semi-free grazing area, mainly to showcase tropical and subtropical rare and endangered animals; fierce beast dispersal zone mainly through setting isolation ditch, mountains overlooking through mountain cave, setting up aerial sightseeing car; grass-eating animal zone, grazing and caged deer, yak etc. grass-eating animals; water fowl zone, mainly to display large and medium-sizedand, such as Cranes, Swans; bird zone, free-range raising various birds, building bird language forest; cold zone animals, mainly indoor exhibition, building polar animal swimming pool, mainly to showcase penguins, polar bears; prehistoric simulation animal zone, simulating prehistoric animal simulation models, including dinosaurs; leisure and play zone occupies about 100 hectares, set gate inner landscape avenue, parking lot and office zone; research breeding zone, establish animal research breeding base; leisure zone occupies 45 hectares, including central square, water leisure zone and entertainment play zone, provide forest adventure entertainment, catering and shopping services; service zone, mainly includes repair center, feed center, animal hospital, etc. There are 39 tourist sightseeing spots, 11,000 square meters large dinosaur cultural wall constructed, records the evolution of dinosaurs and other ancient animals, builds 3 mountain climbing stone steps and many sightseeing platforms.
