West Lake District of Hangzhou’s Xihuan River, 1680 Meters Scenic

The Xihuan River in Sandun Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, is one of Hangzhou City’s ecological demonstration river channels created. In the spring, flowers bloom, and trees thrive exuberantly. A walk along the Xihuan River allows you to feel the spring breeze and experience the beauty of human kindness.

The Xihuan River is located on the east side of Jinjinghua Road, Xihu District, with a total length of approximately 1680 meters and a width of about 20 meters. It stretches from Yuhantang River to Xiaolong Wusi and is one of the main inland rivers in Xihu District.

The river’s west bank is bordered by the Zhejiang University Jinjiang Campus, while the east bank is lined with residential communities such as Wendingin Garden.

Through dredging, sewage interception and management, increased water supply, ecological governance, and comprehensive technological means, the Xihuan River has been transformed into an ecological demonstration channel with a transparency greater than 50 centimeters, showcasing diverse aquatic animals and submerged plants.

Citizens leisurely stroll and exercise along both banks of the Xihuan River.

The green belt maintenance implements a responsibility system, and signboards with the names and phone numbers of project leaders are erected along the roadside.
