Most Beautiful City in Yunnan: Not Lijiang or Dali, But the Transfer Station You Passed By All Along

Mentioning China's southwestern frontier lands, Yunnan, what would the participants first think of?

Indeed, these are Yunnan's tourist hotspots, attracting a large number of tourists every year.

From Kunming, with the flight landing, Trip planned not to directly go to the city, but took a bus to Fuxian Lake.

Here, the reputation is not as good as Dianchi and Erhai, but the scenery is no less impressive!

Compared to Erhai Lake with buildings everywhere, here has a richer natural atmosphere, with the blue lake surface stretching to the horizon, and flying birds passing by.

Recommend taking a speedboat, 200 yuan for an hour, to feel Fuxian Lake up close.

Strongly recommend 3 must-visit attractions: Moonlit Bay Wetland Park, Fuxian Lake Park, Lu Chong Scenic Area, with ticket prices ranging from 15 to 30 yuan.

Fuxian Lake has many characteristic guesthouses. If you want to stay here for a few more days to explore all the attractions, guesthouses are the best choice.

chose Xiaowan Village guesthouse, starting from Changshuo Airport for half an hour, the most recommended is Hawaii Cottage, the house has a rooftop terrace, you can see the whole Fuxian Lake scenery, compared to the heavy brick and tile houses, feels closer to nature.

The guesthouse provides breakfast for the second day, serving until noon, no additional charge, for one night, 600-800 yuan.

After staying in the guesthouse for one night, the next day, Trip took a bus back to the city.

The first stop in the city, and a beautiful place - Cuihu. Cuihu Park's lotus flowers are famous, but it's not the right time to see the magnificent beauty of endless green leaves and blue water.

The park is free to open, many local people also come here, senior citizens gather to practice boxing, families of three play by the river, very comfortable life.

Because of its original ecological landscape and four-season-like spring climate, Yunnan attracts a large number of migratory birds to spend the winter every year.

Cuihu Park, because of its pleasant climate and geographical location, in winter, it becomes a paradise for birds. Walking along the embankment of the park, you can often see flocks of birds, either flying from the top or shuttling through the tall reeds.

The most famous of these are the red-beaked seagulls, because they have red beaks, which are distinctive.

If you want to interact with them more closely, you can buy special feeding supplies for the red-beaked seagulls at the stalls by the shore for 20 yuan, which is not much, two or three birds will eat it at once, then you can interact and take pictures with them.

After feeding the red-beaked seagulls, it's already noon, and Cuihu Park is near Yunnan University, and there's also a food gathering place - Kunming Old Street, which is a paradise for foodies.

Trip ate lunch here and felt the local street food. Fried potato sticks are the most distinctive here, they are not as crispy as fries, but still soft, and then sprinkled with spices, very delicious.

Note: the default spiciness here is very spicy, if you can't eat spicy, you need to tell them in advance. Small snacks are generally 10-15 yuan per portion, you can eat a few different kinds.

Walking west from Old Street, you will reach Cuihu Park and see Jangkutu Army Academy.

Jangkutu Army Academy is a must-visit attraction in the city, and it's free. It witnessed the development of China's new style of army, experienced the Sino-Vietnamese Revolution, the Patriotic Movement and other important historical events.

Now it has been transformed into a museum, the building with a height of over 100 years still well preserved, the museum has various objects, precious photos and materials.

The museum also has many one-to-one wax figure models, restoring many important historical scenes.

The museum provides free commentary services, and Trip met a young lady who enthusiastically introduced some precious artifacts and their photos behind them.

There are many tourists in the museum, and the commentator sometimes can't keep up, so it's recommended to rent a headphone to listen while appreciating, which is also very good.

Here is also a Jangkutu Army Academy cultural coffee shop in the south corner of the museum. If you're tired, you can rest here and taste coffee and ice cream.

The ice cream of Jangkutu Army Academy is a popular product, and the shop creatively made the ice cream look like the Jangkutu Army Academy's appearance, which is very beautiful, and the flavors also have many, milk, strawberry, coffee, small size 5 yuan, large size 10 yuan.

It's a bit expensive for ice cream, but considering its appearance, it's still worthwhile.

After visiting Jangkutu Army Academy in the afternoon, as the sun sets, it's time to have dinner and taste local delicacies to reward yourself.

Steamed Chicken and Rice Noodles constitute half of Kunming's cuisine. Trip found a well-known Kunming restaurant – Fuzholou, the steamed chicken has a unique cooking method, making the chicken meat particularly tender, and the soup is also very delicious.

There's also the cold rice noodles and roast duck here, which are also very good. Kunming's prices are not high, chicken 58 yuan per portion, this whole meal is less than 200 yuan.

On the third day, Trip went to Lu Yu River Wetland Park in the En Gong district, which is also free to open and integrates water and flower elements.

Here, the beach and riverside can catch small fish and shrimp, you can buy a set of fishing tools for 5 yuan to bring children, it's a good choice.

Lu Yu River is also a place to watch the sunset, if you want to see the sunset, you can go to the park around 4-5 pm, take a sightseeing car to tour the park for a circle, around 7 pm the sunset will start, take a snapshot at will, it's a great shot!

On the fourth day, Trip's last stop was one of Yunnan's eighteen strange terrains – Shilin.

As a 5A-level scenic area and a world heritage site, the ticket price is relatively high, at 130 yuan. It's open from 8 am to 6 pm every day, you can take the scenic spot's direct bus to Kunming.

It's the shooting location of the movie 'Ashi Ma', and along the way, you can see the stories of Ashima and Ah Black Gong. Each block of strange and irregular stones, with the addition of people's imagination, comes to life, Viewing Stone, Beggar Stone, Monkey Stone, you can really see them clearly.

The scenic area is large, if you want to walk through all of it, it takes about half a day, it's recommended to go to Wangfengting, here you can overlook the entire Shilin.

If you want to take pictures with a national style, you can rent a set of local costumes, with the majestic Shilin as the background, it's super beautiful!
