Which city is the capital of Indonesia? Most people can't answer it in 3 seconds

Here is Liu Xiaoshun's Travel and Life Institute.

Currently, many Chinese people travel abroad, and they usually first choose Southeast Asia. This is mainly because Southeast Asia is relatively close to China, with many flights and cheap tickets. Furthermore, Southeast Asia boasts beautiful scenery, diverse cultures, and low prices, making it a favorite destination for Chinese tourists, which is understandable.

Southeast Asia is located in Southeast Asia, mainly comprising the Indochina Peninsula and the Malay Archipelago. It consists of 11 countries, with many countries having a strong 'presence' among Chinese people, such as 'New Malaysia' – Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. However, some countries have a weaker 'presence,' such as Indonesia.

When it comes to Indonesia, most Chinese people would immediately think of 'Bali.' As Indonesia's most famous tourist destination, I'm sure many of you are familiar with it. Many Chinese tourists have visited Bali. But if you talk about Indonesia's capital, most Chinese people probably can't answer it in 3 seconds.

In fact, Indonesia's capital is Jakarta, located on the northwest coast of Java Island. Not only is it the 'first largest city' of Indonesia, but it is also the 'first largest city' in the entire Southeast Asian region, with a population exceeding 30 million. This is comparable to China's largest directly-controlled municipality, Chongqing, which is truly surprising.

However, compared to the more developed cities in Southeast Asia, such as Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta's development is not as smooth. Its GDP is only about 200 billion US dollars, and its urban construction is relatively lagging behind. It's no wonder it has a low 'presence,' and many foreign tourists are not familiar with it, which is understandable.

However, Jakarta has recently developed rapidly in the past few years, thanks to its population and scale advantages, and has become a 'rising' city that is attracting much attention in Southeast Asia. This has led many people to be optimistic about Jakarta's future development prospects. We believe Jakarta's 'presence' in Southeast Asia will become increasingly strong in the future.

Have you ever traveled to Indonesia? What are your impressions of Indonesia? If someone asks you what city Indonesia's capital is, can you answer it in 3 seconds? Do you know that Jakarta is the 'first largest city' in Southeast Asia? If you have the opportunity, would you like to come to Jakarta to take a look? Welcome to leave a comment!
