Six Bad Habits That Secretly Damage the Spine
Many people only realize there's a problem with their spine when they experience back pain. Some unexpected daily habits can harm the spine. Recently, the U.S. 'Health' website summarized this.

1.Too much weight in the backpack. The backpack itself doesn't damage spinal health; it's the excessive weight or incorrect carrying method. It's best to use a double-shoulder carry and tighten the waist belt to reduce the load on the back.
2.Spinning. This exercise forces people to constantly lean forward and downward, which may worsen back and neck problems. Of course, not exercising is more harmful to the spine, and bone density decreases with age. Weight-bearing exercise helps increase bone density in the spine and other areas, and exercises that strengthen the core muscles can enhance back muscle strength.
3.Excessive sun exposure. An effective way for the body to produce vitamin D is to expose itself to the sun. Only a small amount of it can be obtained from food. Therefore, appropriate sun exposure can strengthen bone density.
4.Smoking. Smoking inhibits the blood circulation of the intervertebral discs, causing them to dehydrate and making it difficult to absorb the nutrients needed to maintain health.
5.Incorrect way of holding a child. The correct way to hold a child is to stand with feet apart, with shoulder-width distance between them. When squatting, only the hips and knees should bend, and the load should be kept as close to the body as possible.
6.Suppressed emotions. Emotions have a significant impact on muscles and bodily systems (including the spine and vertebrae). If people cannot vent anger, sadness, and fear, they are likely to feel physical pain, including back pain.
