First, we need to understand scoliosis.

Spine consists of the cervical vertebrae, thoracic vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, sacrum and coccyx. The four parts are like two S shapes joined together, forming 4 physiological curves (neck curve, chest curve, waist curve, sacral curve).

The four physiological curves of the spine have an important function: damping. If the physiological curve is gone, the damping and buffering ability will decrease, and the spine will run sideways. Therefore, in exercise, some movements are prohibited for scoliosis patients:

cobra pose

downward-facing dog

bow pose

triangle pose

hero pose

plank pose

seated twist

shoulder stand

Note: The above are exercises to avoid for scoliosis patients, as scoliosis patients have difficulty controlling the intensity and angle of the movements, so it is not recommended to do them, especially forward-bending poses are prohibited.
