Mr. Jiang Talks About Internal Boxing [Excellent Reading]

The punch generates explosive force and penetration, both based on whole-body power. Practicing whole-body power doesn't mean practicing power for the sake of power; it's about practicing power to its fullest extent by practicing technique. When practicing techniques, one strives to make the power as subtle as possible, essentially practicing the technique itself. When one unleashes a punch, one should feel as though the whole body is moving with it, and it will have an effect. Starting with substantial force and excessive power can easily injure one's body. As long as one moves with the whole body, it will be effective. When starting to practice a punch, it should be focused and concise, not extravagant. Focusing on the essence of the technique, rather than performing a mere exercise.

One is a whole-body movement.

Two is whole-body explosive power, that is, the power user's center line does not shift while striking the opponent, knocking them down or causing them to release their stance.

Three is rounded explosive power, which is the power of a bio-electric strike aimed at the opponent's deep internal organs, including the brain's central nervous system. Anyone struck with this power would immediately be stunned, like being struck by lightning, with pale cheeks and a limp, powerless body. In a fight, most people are defeated with a single blow, unable to continue fighting.

Internal strength is fundamentally about root strength and relaxation: relaxation follows root strength; with root strength, greater relaxation is achieved. Relaxation is achieved through confidence; when doing things with ease and confidence, one relaxes, allowing the brain to be freed. A relaxed person is healthy, with a clear mind and a positive attitude. Internal strength allows for composure and agility in combat, far more effective and valuable than raw strength. It also inspires courage and boldness.

In 'hard against hard' combat techniques, one must use root strength. When colliding, the bones are turned; it's not about two people colliding bones, but rather a small strike to the bones. The lateral force is then transferred through the skeleton. This vertical force bears the load, and the bones will not break. If the opponent's bones are not moved, only their injuries are sustained.

Leg root at the hip, internal strength channels penetrate the hips, external appearance is stationary, the body moves downward and upward, the legs move upward, allowing for the legs to move forward, without needing to expand the legs or accelerate. The most critical part is using this leg-lifting method to generate power from a close range, far away, and any distance. Anyone who doesn't understand internal power will find it difficult to generate power from their legs, even if it's powerful, it's only during the brief period before the legs fully extend, at that point the opponent can block. Internal leg movement has already completed the acceleration before taking off. Anyone who wants to block a practitioner of internal power from kicking their legs, even if they're close, they'll just be hit in the face. The root strength enables the legs to generate power; it's the foundation for generating speed and power. With this power as a backing, even intellectuals can fight on the battlefield. Internal martial arts has two types of power: dragon and tiger. The dragon and tiger are strongest in the spine and hips, and the power within the spine and hips inspires courage and confidence.

The dantian (energy center) generates power, with the space between the abdomen and below the pelvic bone as the core, which is elastic like a rubber ball and firm like a steel ball. Therefore, internal martial arts prioritizes the opening and closing of the dantian. The saying 'one year to kill a person' is because it focuses on strengthening this area from the beginning. With an open dantian, one can coordinate the opening and closing of all the bones in the body, and with this internal opening, one can talk about the outward opening and closing of the arms and legs. Without an open dantian to lead the way, it is impossible to generate the endless power of rolling and surging. If you don't master this method, you'll waste power on your arms and legs, and won't be able to deepen it.

In a close-quarters fight, one uses the dantian as the circle, and the spine as the axis. The waist, abdomen, and thigh muscles rotate around the hip bone, and the power travels up the spine to the two hands. The overall feeling is that the power rises from the tailbone or the inner crotch, like a tornado, and the legs are forced to grasp the ground to prevent being pulled up by this power. Regardless of how it's said, you must first have a dantian; without it, everything is pointless.

First, you must grasp the core, grasp the hip bones and spine to practice, don't care about your arms and legs, focus on the dantian, the waist, the internal power, rolling power, and breaking power are all from here.

But no matter how you say it, you must first have a dantian; without it, everything is pointless. Therefore, when starting internal martial arts, first cultivate and accumulate qi, practice Taiji, practice Bagua Palm, and practice Qigong. These three methods are combined to achieve the true essence of internal martial arts. Therefore, when practicing martial arts, first cultivate and accumulate qi, cultivate and accumulate qi, and practice Qigong to achieve its goal: cultivating and accumulating qi, mastering and refining qi, and promoting qi circulation.
