Poor! Chinese Gazelle Caught in Snare; Rescued by Forest Patrol Officers
CCTV News:On March 10th, staff at the Guangxi Nanggang National Nature Reserve Management Center successfully rescued a Chinese Gazelle caught in a snare. Currently, the Chinese Gazelle's physical condition is good and has been released back into the wild.

That day, patrol officers at Guangxi Nanggang National Nature Reserve were conducting wild animal epidemic and disease monitoring and resource patrols when they discovered a wild animal caught in a snare on its hoof, unable to escape. The patrol officers immediately reported to the management center and requested technical personnel to assist.
After identification on the spot, the wild animal was identified as a national level two key protected wild animal, the Chinese Gazelle. Due to fright, the Chinese Gazelle struggled continuously, and with the joint efforts of many people, the rescuers removed the snare from its hoof and provided simple treatment for the wound. Because of timely discovery, the Chinese Gazelle's injury from being caught was light and did not affect its walking. Subsequently, the rescuers released it back into nature.
Preliminary analysis indicates that the Chinese Gazelle's entrapment was likely due to villagers placing snares to hunt and sell. In the next step, the nature reserve will cooperate with the Forest Police to investigate and prosecute the case for illegal behavior.
