Vibrant and Lively Xingkai Lake Welcomes Return of Migratory Birds (Group Photos)

Dongbei Net, March 23rd(Sun Haqi, reporter Ge Jinxinx) China's largest migratory bird station, Xingkai Lake, welcomes the return of migratory birds. As of now, the migratory birds reaching Xingkai Lake Nature Reserve are mainly cranes and geese, with the most observed at one time reaching more than 40,000 birds. It is expected that the peak migration period of Xingkai Lake Nature Reserve will arrive in late March and early April.

As the weather warms and the ice melts, the Xingkai Lake National Nature Reserve, located on the Sino-Russian border, welcomes a large number of migratory birds. The migratory birds fly in flocks, playing in the water, bringing vibrant life to the frozen lake.

Xingkai Lake is a Sino-Russian border lake, the largest migratory bird station in Northeast Asia. Tens of thousands of ducks, geese, and gulls reside and breed here annually, with peak migration reaching over 170,000 birds in the spring.

Xingkai Lake wetland is an international important wetland, with an area of 2225 square kilometers, connected to the Russian territory wetland, is one of the largest three wetlands in the world. The wetland is rich in wild animal and plant resources, with 285 species of important migratory birds, 9 species of national level protected birds, and 41 species of secondary protected birds.
