Taibai Mountain spans three counties of Baoji, Taibai and Zhouzhi in Shaanxi Province, with its summit perpetually covered in snow, reflecting a silvery white from afar, hence the name Taibai Mountain. Taibai Mountain is the highest peak of the Qinling Mountains, and the first peak east of the Tibetan Plateau. The forest coverage rate here reaches 94%, and the natural landscape on the summit is very magnificent, which is one of the few natural scenic tourist areas in western China. In recent years, Taibai Mountain, known for its high altitude, cold temperature, danger, wonder, and prosperity, has attracted countless backpackers to explore it. They have discovered several original forest crossing routes of Taibai Mountain. Of course, for most people, these routes are very dangerous. If you just want to enjoy leisurely tourism and experience a safe, original forest crossing, you can simply take a trip to Taibai Mountain National Forest Park. Good news is that starting from March 21st, Taibai Mountain Scenic Area has been reopened and is freely open to all tourists (currently only open to the World Heritage Site of Heavenly Paradise).

Green mountain, white cloud, white cloud deep in the white cloud, this is the poem I heard when I was a child. Back then, Taibai was one of my aspirations. In fact, the Taibai Mountain includes 'Taibai Mountain, Ao Mountain, and the Horse-Riding Ridge between the two peaks', while the narrow Taibai Mountain is the Taibai Mountain Forest Park within Shaanxi Province's Baoji County's Taibai jurisdiction. It is believed that those who love outdoor travel have heard of 'Ao Tai crossing', which is a route that spans between Qinling Ao Mountain and Taibai Mountain, which is known as 'walking on the Chinese Dragon's Ridge' and is one of the most difficult hiking routes in China. Before, there were many accidents of crossing during each year, to ensure the safety of everyone, now it has been banned 'Ao Tai crossing'. For ordinary people, to have a safe original forest crossing experience, you can simply take a trip to Taibai Mountain National Forest Park's official route. Taibai Mountain needs to be completely finished at least two days, the scenery under the mountain is quite ordinary, it is recommended to take a bus to the altitude of more than 2800 meters of Plateform Temple, then you can take the cable car directly to Upper Platform Temple.

After appreciating the beautiful scenery of Taibai Mountain at the Viewing Platform, you continue to ascend, and you can reach the highest point that most tourists can reach – Heavenly Paradise. Heavenly Paradise's altitude is 3500 meters. Here, the view is open, you can see Taibai Mountain in front of you, which cannot be seen at the Viewing Platform. If you are lucky, you can also see a magnificent cloud sea. Here, you are standing on the peak of the mountains, when the cloud sea passes under your feet, that is a 'sensation of becoming a god'. Look up, the sky is like a huge dome, look down, the mountains are undulating, it's like Heavenly Paradise, let you contemplate the high mountain and far-reaching, let you appreciate the beauty of Taibai and feel the harmony between man and nature.

Standing on Heavenly Paradise, if you look south along Taibai Mountain's ridge, you can see a small building, which is one of Taibai Mountain's famous landmarks – Small Imperial Temple, which is also the third supplement point before reaching the final destination – Viewing Platform. If you only take a day trip to Taibai Mountain, then you should leave as soon as you finish admiring the scenery at Heavenly Paradise. If you really want to experience the Taibai Mountain journey, then congratulations, after a day's journey, you will arrive at Small Imperial Temple, which is the real starting point of Taibai Mountain's original forest crossing (according to the visitor level). Walking at a normal pace after watching Heavenly Paradise, and then returning to Small Imperial Temple, you will probably be 5-6 pm. Because of the changeable weather on Taibai Mountain peak, such behavior is too dangerous, so the staff of Small Imperial Temple will not let you continue forward.

The original forest crossing

On the first day, you can take photos and leave memories at Small Imperial Temple, where you can see the majestic Qinling Mountains, appreciate the magnificent cloud sea, and feel the magical one-day four seasons weather of Taibai Mountain. For example, as shown in the picture, it was sunny 10 seconds ago, and the next second it suddenly rained heavily. This is why the weather on Taibai Mountain peak is somewhat dangerous. On the first night, you must stay at Small Imperial Temple, the accommodation conditions are relatively poor, but it is the 'most luxurious' place in the original forest. In summer, when the weather is good, you can take pictures of the Milky Way, and you can wake up early to take pictures of the sunrise at Heavenly Paradise.

If you want to return to the bottom of the mountain before 2 pm, then you need to leave early in the morning at 6-7 am the next day, because the next journey will be a long hiking journey (hiking back and forth will take more than ten hours), of course, you can also appreciate the most magnificent scenery of Taibai Mountain.

Along Small Imperial Temple, this journey is lonely, 'Thousands of birds fly away, ten thousand people walk away', this journey you will hardly encounter tourists, occasionally a foreign traveler passes by quickly, that is because they are passing from the other direction, they are going to save energy, and they will not greet you when they pass by. Along the way, there are countless Mani piles standing on the mountain peaks, it is said that as long as you stick to it and engrave the six words in your heart day and night, these stones will have spirituality and bring good luck to passersby. Along the way, you look back, the road you walked disappears like a passing cloud, looking at the endless road ahead, it is full of courage, but also full of ambition.

Along the way, you will pass by Small Imperial Temple, which is the second to last supplement point before reaching the final destination. After a hurried rest, you need to quickly set off again, and you will arrive at the final destination of this original forest crossing journey – Big Brother Sea in about several hours of quick walking, this is Taibai Mountain's well-preserved typical ice lake, which formed in the ancient fourth-period glacier. At Big Brother Sea, there is a mystery, that is, no one knows its depth, and some divers tried to dive into the seabed, but they failed. On the east side of Big Brother Sea, is the true final destination landmark – Viewing Platform

As a 5A-level Taibai Mountain, it is one of the ten most attractive tourist destinations in China. Although Taibai Mountain is suitable for travel in all seasons, and the scenery is different in each season, it is the safest and most comfortable to climb in summer. If you have time in the future, you can give yourself a two-day vacation to experience a light crossing adventure.
