According to the '2019 Shanxi Province Tourism Industry Development Big Data Report' released on April 3rd, museums are identified as a key tourism sector, and the province's museum visitor satisfaction is generally good.
The '2019 Shanxi Province Tourism Industry Development Big Data Report' was created by the Shanxi Provincial Cultural and Tourism Institute and the Shanxi Provincial Tourism Big Data Joint Laboratory. 2019 was the year of cultural and tourism integration opening, and the Shanxi Provincial People's Government Office issued the 'Opinions on the Reform of 'Two Rights Separation' for Tourism-Related Cultural and Historical Protection Units' to promote the development of management and operating rights for tourism-based cultural and historical protection units, stimulating the vitality of cultural and historical protection units, promoting the value of cultural and historical sites, and supporting the creation of provincial all-tourism demonstration zones.
Big data on museums showed that as of the end of 2019, the distribution of museums in Shanxi Province was concentrated, with 58.67% of museums located in Jinzhong City, and 21.33% in Taiyuan City. Museums in Jinzhong City are concentrated in Pingyao County, mainly with comprehensive museums. Museum visitor satisfaction is generally good; as of the end of 2019, according to online platform data analysis, Jinci Temple Museum received the highest attention, followed by the Shanxi Museum; the satisfaction score for the Shanxi Museum and Shanxi Noodles Museum was the highest, and the overall museum visitor rating was above 4 points, indicating good satisfaction. The top five rated memorial halls in Shanxi Province are dominated by the Eighth Route Army Taihang Memorial Hall, and memorial hall ratings are also above 4 points, indicating good memorial hall visitor satisfaction.
