A Paradise for Hiking, Off-Roading, and Tourists: Gongga Mountain in Sichuan is Truly a Marvel
Here's a glimpse of my journey, and I'm looking for fellow souls with a sense of humor along the way!
I first developed an impression of Gongga Mountain from 'Notes on Tomb Raiders' where Wu Bajie and Lu Boying went together to adventure and explore mysteries. At that time, I thought Gongga Mountain was mysterious and intriguing. Later, due to the praise like 'World Natural Heritage, National Scenic Area' and its status as 'China's Top Ten Climbing Mountains' in the eyes of travel climbers, I became fascinated by it and learned about its charm.
Gongga Mountain is also known as 'Gongga Queen'. It has beautiful scenery and is highly sought after by climbers. Legend has it that four fairies were attracted by the beautiful scenery and spent their days playing here. One day, four demons came to this place to cause trouble, and the fairies transformed into four mountains to suppress the demons, restoring peace to the land. Therefore, these four mountains were named 'Gongga Mountain'.
At the Gongga Scenic Area, Meiliang Viewing Platform is famous throughout the world. You can find the best viewing position for Gongga Mountain at the viewing platform. Looking out, four mountains stand in a line, resembling a silver dragon lying in the valley, which is spectacular. Its climbing difficulty also increases sequentially, with ( Peak), which directly penetrates the clouds, being rated as one of China's most difficult peaks to summit.
Aside from the charm of climbing, Gongga Mountain's scenery is also renowned. The peaks of several mountains are perpetually frozen in ice, steep and treacherous, with loose rocks, while the other scenery is different. Big Gongga Mountain has meadows and forests, with herds of yaks and horses raised by herdsmen. Second Gongga Mountain is full of green trees and grass in summer, and there are also many hidden valleys and rare animals and precious medicinal herbs in the Tibetan Plateau. Third Gongga Mountain Scenic Area has beautiful scenery, complex terrain, and abundant flora and fauna, with giant pandas being the most famous, as well as Tibetan and Qiang ethnic cultures.
Gongga Mountain has stunning scenery in all four seasons, especially in spring and autumn. In spring, as in the traditional image, spring brings blossoming flowers, but Gongga Mountain's spring is still covered in snow, with spring rain falling outside the mountains and snowflakes flying inside, which is strikingly different; in summer, flowers bloom in abundance, the meadows are fragrant, and the streams flow gently; in autumn, fallen leaves flutter, and the forests are dyed in various colors, each frame is like a beautiful landscape painting; echoing spring, Gongga Mountain's winter is still sunny, although the trees are barren, they still maintain their splendor.
There are many beautiful valleys surrounding Gongga Mountain, with Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley, and Haizi Valley being the most famous. Shuangqiao Valley is a well-known tourist destination with vast and beautiful scenery, allowing you to admire snow mountains, waterfalls, wetlands, and pastures. Changping Valley is full of primitive forests, making you want to hike and explore. Haizi Valley is named for the many seas in it and is full of challenges because it has no trails throughout, which is favored by outdoor challenge enthusiasts.
Whether it's sightseeing or adventurous challenges, Gongga Mountain is a great place to visit. When you conquer this mountain, you will surely be amazed by its extreme scenery, starry sky, or sunrise and sunset!
