Giant Rhododendrons and Azaleas: Red Like Dawn, Vivid Like Fire

Ancient trees blooming are precious, and the ancient tree flower sea is a rare and magnificent sight. In early March, the old factory township of Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, witnessed a spectacular bloom of wild giant rhododendrons with ages ranging from a hundred to a thousand years, painting the valleys with vibrant red blossoms.
Looking into the distance, the trees laden with red flowers resemble fiery red silk draped across the mountains, a sight to behold and marvel at.
Upon closer inspection, the giant rhododendrons have a unique beauty; clusters of over ten red-petaled yellow-hearted flowers form robust blossoms roughly the size of a pompom, approximately 20 centimeters in diameter, as depicted in Bai Juyi's poem: 'If you look closely, it seems as though there are treasures in the world; this flower is like Xi Shi.'
At the tall treetop, the flowers bloom in layers, scattered across the mountain peaks, gracefully swaying in the gentle spring breeze, shedding petals that blanket the earth in red.
Giant rhododendrons are an ancient and original tree species within the Rhododendron genus, demanding extremely strict growth conditions. Their seedlings grow slowly, taking 50 years to bloom, making the giant rhododendron flower sea a truly rare and precious natural wonder.
