Tao Yuan Village, Jiaxing: Peach Blossom Village Where Plum Blossoms Bloom Before Every Door
In mid-March, the vegetation is flourishing. Stepping on the spring sunlight, along Shuey Li Road into Caixi's Tao Yuan Village, thousands of Shuey Li flowers are in full bloom, covering half the spring sky. The 'Flower Hunting Squad' arrived at Tao Yuan Village just in time for the finals of the Shuey Li Flower Festival, frequently brushing shoulders with young girls dressed in Hanfu, with petals falling on their foreheads and hair, dancing with their skirts, creating a sense of time crossing over.

Let's get straight to the point, our protagonist is the Shuey Li flower.

White blossoms on branches, delicate and hazy, complemented by white walls and gray tiles, adding a touch of elegant and graceful. While peach blossoms are vibrant and cherry blossoms are flamboyant, the editor personally loves the Shuey Li flower's low-key and unassuming nature.

Tao Yuan Village is not only about Shuey Li flowers; occasionally, a few peach trees complement them, creating stunning scenery in the spring.

Let it grow wild, and you'll get this vibrant scene.
Tao Yuan Village has been planting Shuey Li for over 2500 years, a former imperial tribute. Legend has it that Xishi (Xi Shi) traveled to Licheng (Li City) and saw vast Li forests in Tao Yuan Village, picking a few and using her fingernail to gently pinch the top of the Li peach, immediately releasing fragrance and scent, and after tasting several, she felt a sense of intoxication, and thus, Shuey Li became known as 'Intoxicated Li'. After Xishi, Li peaches grown in Tao Yuan Village have a unique claw-shaped scar on the top of the fruit. People say this is the imprint of Xishi's fingernail when she ate Shuey Li, and it's called 'Xishi's Claw'. It's strange that only Shuey Li grown in Tao Yuan Village has this unique taste, and it quickly gained fame throughout the region.
For those who love to eat, you can wait until late June and early July, when the Shuey Li is ripe, to pick them, and if you're in a hurry, you can also try Li peach soda from Tao Yuan Village, which is a good choice.
The village committee official of Tao Yuan Village said that after the land flattening and reconstruction in 2002, the Tongxiang Nongjing Department encouraged farmers to plant Shuey Li by distributing seedlings based on the number of households, and in a few years, the Shuey Li trees increased from less than 100 acres to 1700 acres. However, the flowering period of Shuey Li is short, generally around one week, so citizens who want to admire the flowers should seize the time.

When spring comes, it's a good idea to visit Tao Yuan Village, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic, and quietly watch Shuey Li flowers in front of every household, which is a great enjoyment.
