Jiangmen Ancient Water Town: A Palette of Colors
Gu lao water town in Guangdong is not a famous tourist attraction, and few people visit it except for tour groups. Due to inconvenient public transportation, most visitors travel by self-driving. Independent travelers are even rarer.

It's only a 1-hour drive from Guangzhou, nicknamed Guangdong's Little Venice. It boasts a rich history and stunning scenery due to its extensive waterways and numerous small ponds. It's definitely a must-see!
Self-driving: This is the most convenient option, just input 'Gu lao water town' to locate it. Having a car is also convenient for exploring the village independently. Independent travel: It's not as inconvenient as you might imagine. Guangzhou – Heshan Bus Station is a frequent departure station, with hourly departures. The provincial station has two departures every hour, a journey of about 1 hour, and a fare of around 33-38 yuan. From Heshan Bus Station, take bus 521, which costs 5.5 yuan. You can also take a ride-sharing service for around 20 yuan. Bus 521 doesn't stop at all stations, so be sure to tell the driver to get off at Gu lao water town, otherwise you'll end up at the final stop, which is a vocational school. Although it's only a few steps away from the northern gate of the Gu lao water town scenic area, it's 2 kilometers from the lotus flowers.

The roads in the area are well-maintained and divide the ponds into countless sections. However, the grandeur of the scenery can only be fully appreciated from a high vantage point. The colorful ponds resemble a palette of colors, beautiful and vibrant. You can also see the houses in the distance, which are surrounded by ponds and arranged in a harmonious and well-spaced manner. It's no wonder it's called Little Venice.

At sunset, each pond reflects the setting sun and golden light, creating a seamless blend of sky and earth. From a high vantage point, the view is even more spectacular.
