Bangkok Accommodation Guide: Where in Bangkok is Most Suitable to Live?

There are three types of accommodation in Bangkok: serviced apartments, condominiums, or city apartments. Townhouses offer the advantage of being able to keep pets and host parties.
Where is Bangkok most suitable to live?
Asoke
This area is the central area of Bangkok. The MRT and BTS intersect here. There are a variety of restaurants, the 21st Century Shopping Mall and the Cowboy Market nearby. For entertainment, there is a large park 500 meters south of the intersection. The nearest residential area is Sukhumvit 16 and 23 Sois. Many foreigners live here. Therefore, everyone more or less speaks English.
Ratchthewi / Pratunam Area
This area is located between the transfer stations (BTS) and Phayathai, offering a wide range of shopping options. The convenient access to BTS Skytrain and the Airport Rail Link (Phayathai station) and its central location make it convenient for many foreigners. Although it is primarily a commercial and shopping area, there are also many large and luxurious apartments. Numerous food stalls and food courts provide residents with many choices, allowing them to find food without having to go far. As for entertainment, CocoWalk has many bars and pubs, just off the central Ratchathwi station. Because it's close to everything, it's easy to reach the main entertainment venues on Sukhumvit Road.
Onnut Area
Onnut is a large residential area popular with locals and foreigners, not far from the center of Bangkok (BTS has 5 stations from Asok). It's a trade-off between price and distance to the center and quality of life. A large number of apartments are located around the Onnut BTS station. In addition, there is also Lakeflower Mall, a Big C shopping mall, and a local fruit and vegetable market.
Sukhumvit Road 24 Soi
Sukhumvit Road 24 Soi is 1.2 kilometers long, covering the area between Phrom Phong (shopping malls) and Rama 4 Road. As a residential area, the street has many upscale apartments. Compared to Sukhumvit Road, it is not as bustling and busy. And in a small alley on the same street, there are many massage parlors.

Thonglor
Thonglor is a high-end residential and entertainment area. Due to its central location, luxury apartments and the convenient BTS Skytrain, many Western and Japanese expatriates, as well as middle- to upper-class Thais, choose to live in this community. Various restaurants and smaller food stalls are located in Thonglor, covering the area between Sukhumvit 38 and Petchaburi Road.
