If you've been overly soft-hearted, people will perceive you as weak. But if you're too strong, you'll be lonely, and others will rarely care for you – a contradiction. Always considering others' needs, but don't forget yourself; after all, who will think of you?
Not arguing doesn't mean you don't care; people are hurt and feel neglected and excluded. Not saying anything doesn't mean you're not saddened or heartbroken. Being ignored or deceived isn't about not caring; it's about seeing through others' foolish performances.
Seeing through and not pointing out—they're still boasting, but unwilling to expose your flaws. Don't mistake my kindness for foolishness; my softness isn't stupidity; it's simply a refusal to engage in scheming and deceit.
Everyone has their own self-interest, but they're lazy about confronting certain petty people. I don't like insincere flattery, not because I don't have the ability; I can't bear the consequences when trouble comes.
