Two Anti-Epidemic Poems
Author: Yunmeng County Huimin Hospital, Zhong Yunyan

My White-Clad Warrior

What makes your footsteps so hurried?
It's the countless gazes of anticipation behind you
Pressing forward
With you by my side
Not even a blizzard could stop us
What makes the glimmer in your eyes?
Making you an example for comrades
Bearing burdens
Nothing can stop you
Even facing illness, there's the power to fight

You rush to the front without hesitation
Sacrificing life for me
Flying against the wind
You stride confidently at the head
Shielding me from the wind and rain
Unstoppable
You blocked the coming of the virus
You pointed the way forward
You corrected mistakes and confusion
You brought hope for life
Although you seem radiant and full of spirit
I don't want to see you depart
Like a moth drawn to the flame
Although you appear to be justified
I don't want you to be hurt
Even if you're disappointed by me
I only hope
After many years, when I'm gray-haired and wrinkled
I only hope
You can still accompany me on the battlefield
Radiant and full of life
'My Eyes'

He cancelled the wedding on the eighth day of the first lunar month,
He insisted on contacting and coordinating supplies while isolating himself at home
She wore an N95 mask for five consecutive days until it became moldy but continued to use it
She made protective face shields from folders and delivered them to the train station
He escorted colleagues to the frontline every morning at 5 am
She contacted and coordinated supplies in multiple donation groups, working tirelessly for days and nights
She insisted on disinfecting floors with bleach and spraying disinfectant, ensuring the hospital was thoroughly cleaned before returning home
They are the most responsible medical workers
But also the most irresponsible parents and fathers

They are the most humble children of the people
But also the parents who failed in their duties
Hearing incomprehending complaints
They didn't retreat
Seeing skeptical glances
They didn't retreat
They bravely rushed to the forefront
Stopping people rushing home
They stood by the side of patients with fever
Rescuing lives under the scythe of death
In the cold night, they shone brilliantly because of them!
In the busy ward, they filled it with glory because of them!

Because
They are the embodiment of Florence Nightingale
They are the reincarnation of White Crossman
Because
They are the doctors and nurses at Huimin Hospital who are on the front line
They are the light in my eyes!
