Thousand people, thousand pairs of shoes – every pair has a suitable owner! Hello everyone, here's WEN shoe review, I'm Guzi, follow me via private message or comment to ask your shoe questions, and I'll answer them all.
Today we continue our 'Domestic Summer Real-World Testing' series. Today, I'm bringing you the revamped Piko – Parker 7. Let's take a look at the basic information of this shoe.
Basic Information
Size: US9.5 EUR42
Launch Price: 699
Market Price: 490
Single Weight: 456g
Does it run big?: Runs big by one size
This shoe is actually released together with the previous Lightning 2020 we unboxed. You can see that the overall color scheme is very similar.
Yes, this Parker 7 is also in 'geek player' colorway. Do you like this color scheme?
The shoebox is still very stylish: The Parker 7's exclusive shoebox, with many Parker elements on it. Opening the shoebox, there's also a lid, and both shoes are packaged in two separate bags.
I wonder if it's because we bought a 42 this time, or because of the color scheme, the whole shoe doesn't look as bulky as the initial launch colorway.
Parker 7 Real-World Testing ⬆️ ⬆️
As one of the first people to experience Parker 7, I really love and hate Parker 7. I love its design, its feel, and it's a surprise as the first stand-X real-world testing shoe. But I hate its upper's wrapping and support, and the overall weight.
So, what upgrades has this Parker 7 I have made?
Without a doubt, the most obvious change is the upper.
Previous Parker 7 generations used the surface shoe material, and the overall athletic feel was: foot-sealed, not breathable, and extremely poor support strength.
Switching to this Parker 7, a nylon mesh fabric has been added to the outer side of the upper.
This design improves breathability at least a lot compared to the surface shoe material. Secondly, its stiffness is also pretty good.
At the same time, we can see the fluorescent green shoelaces and straps, the visual effect is really great.
The fabric used in other parts of the shoe is patchwork one-piece fabric, but let's be honest, the strength of the inner side of the upper, please take a look by yourself.
Besides this nylon mesh fabric on the upper, other differences are not that big, the shoes are covered with many Parker elements.
Especially the treatment of the upper, the black diagonal slash connecting the upper and midsole looks like a 7 shape.
Without a doubt, the whole shoe still uses the stand-X midsole, and the feel and feedback are unquestionable.
On the outside of the midsole, there's a rubber wrapping. I think it's a little harder than the rubber on the outside of the first Parker 7, because I don't have the previous Parker 7 in my hand now, so I can't make a direct comparison, but it definitely helps control the deformation of the midsole.
At the same time, the side-out protection on the forefoot is also more obvious, in the heel, the half-ring TPU wrapped around the heel can also play a role in stabilizing the heel and limiting deformation.
In terms of the outsole, the rose-red crystal bottom is very beautiful, but the wear resistance is quite poor.
Overall, if I haven't bought Parker 7 and wanted to experience it, I would definitely buy this colorway for its appearance. It has improved the previous problems while retaining its advantages, which is a small but not small progress. What do you think?
