Scientific Fitness | Martial Arts Coach Teaches You Eight Forms of Taijiquan
The eight forms of Taijiquan feature circular, flowing movements, progressing from simple to complex. They are easy to practice, allowing for effortless coordination of yin and yang, flexibility and strength, and a smooth, steady pace, like flowing clouds and water. The primary step is continuous bow stance, with the main techniques being the basic straight punch (Zheng Shou), pushing, squeezing, and pressing.
This eight-form Taijiquan consists mainly of symmetrical, individual movements performed in place. It is easy to learn, covers a wide range of techniques, emphasizes balance, and is suitable for people of all ages, providing health benefits, fitness, and self-defense capabilities. It takes approximately two minutes to practice at a moderate pace.
Today, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine's martial arts team coach and professor, Lu Songting, will teach everyone how to practice.
