A Black-Crested 'Monster Bird' Found in Qian County Shudi Discovered – It Was Actually Called This Name
On February 29th, the Yan Town villagers reported to the LinYi Bureau that a mysterious "bird" was found on a tree in their yard, requesting assistance.

Subsequently, the LinYi Bureau's operations personnel quickly rushed to the scene to investigate. The bird measured approximately 50cm in length, with a long neck and a distinct black crest. A brown band with dark ends was visible on the upper neck, and the beak was sharply colored brown. A red base was present at the lower jaw, and the front toes had webbed flaps. After identification, the "bird" was determined to be a state-level Grade 2 wild protected animal—the Hooded Crane (Pituŏ Cànni). Following an examination of the Hooded Crane by the staff, the bird was found to have no external injuries. After simple feeding, it was released back into the wild.

It is reported that the Hooded Crane is also known as the Crowned Crane or White Crane, a bird species belonging to the Crane family and the Crane genus. It inhabits coastal areas, lakes, reservoirs, rivers and other water bodies.
