Some turtle enthusiasts have become so professional that they need to test water quality to determine the specific pathogen, which is unnecessary for self-breeding. Moreover, by the time these are all detected, the turtle may already be dead. Mechanical injury, influence of physical and chemical factors, malnutrition, feed spoilage, stress reactions, etc., all lead to disease and death.
For example, stress reaction comes first, followed by internal organ disease. Some turtle enthusiasts have tried dissection to find the cause, such as lung problems leading to liver problems. But the deeper level is to find the root cause. Just like when we get sick, we need medication, but fundamentally, it’s because our constitution is poor, and strengthening our physique through exercise and rest is the key. Otherwise, we will continue to get sick and continue to be treated. Turtles are the same; after one illness, try to eliminate the root cause to prevent it from 'recurring like a spring breeze'.
Root cause treatment.
After turtles get sick, find the root cause and then treat the root cause. That's why many turtle enthusiasts often say that keeping turtles is like learning astronomy, physics, and genetics – everything is meticulously studied. Although a little exaggerated, since we need to find the cause, we need to consider it comprehensively. Turtles and their environment, and the turtle’s internal ecosystem, both need to maintain a dynamic balance. Only balance can ensure health.

Many of our daily practices and coordination can already solve many problems.

I’m sure many turtle enthusiasts are like this: when turtles get sick, ask questions and search online (online search is already quite autonomous learning), rarely reflecting and learning, and rarely summarizing. Dogs and cats are mammals, and most pet hospitals will solve your troubles. Some problems are obviously caused by environmental and dietary structures, but they are still complaining that turtles are always sick and hard to raise, which is a bit ridiculous.
