The rare appearance of such a large flock of mallards was remarkable.
Pairs of colorful mallards leisurely played in the water, chased each other and foraged, swam side by side, and sometimes emitted low and beautiful calls, as if couples were whispering secrets to each other.

Shuangbei County Yiluhuzi National Wetland Park.
Mallards belong to the Anseriformes and Anatidae families, a national second-level protected wild animal, and a famous ornamental bird in China. Mallards have different colors for males and females. Male mallards have gorgeous and brilliant feathers and a crest on their heads, with long white eyebrows behind their eyes, just as if they had just made up their faces. Female mallards have gray-brown heads and upper bodies, with white around their eyes, followed by a white eyebrow, which is also very conspicuous and unique.
In recent years, Shuangbei County has continuously promoted the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Basin. It has taken many measures to strengthen wetland protection and restoration, and the ecological environment has obviously improved. The number and species of birds have increased significantly, and rare birds such as the Chinese Fall Sand Duck, White Egret, and Mallard have appeared in large populations.
