Yaking Sparrowhawks Visit the Yunding River

Zhongdan Yaque
Beijing News (reporter Ye Xiaoyan, correspondent Xiao Duo, Guo Nan Nan) With the warming weather, the Yunding River basin is now a landscape of spring. In the Yuanbo Lake and Xia Yue Lake areas, Yaque, sparrowhawks and other waterfowl have flocked in, often playing in the lake, foraging in the water, or resting on the banks, presenting a harmonious natural ecological landscape.
At Wanping Lake in the Yunding River, the reporter's lens captured a pair of Zhongdan Yaque, they were stationed among the reeds, like elves in spring. Zhongdan Yaque is a bird of the sparrowhawk family, a rare bird species unique to China, also known as 'the panda of birds'.
