However, since the 1970s, the population of Box Turtles has declined day by day, and there are only a few sightings in Zhejiang Province's Ou River, Guangdong's Sui River and Yunnan’s Lancang River, and other areas are basically extinct. The total number of Box Turtles in China is estimated to be less than 200.
