Endless Loneliness
Recently, I've been searching for movies at home, and the one that's been trending lately is 'Love'. It tells the story of the daily lives of pets and their owners. The movie is indeed heartwarming and healing. However, after watching it, endless loneliness permeated my heart. In the movie, Wu Lei plays Chen Yunlu, and Mr. Yu and Gao Ming both seem incredibly lonely.
In the movie, Chen Yunlu's vision was lost several years ago due to a genetic disorder. It's clear from the movie that he has always lived with his mother. An orphan who can't see with one eye – can you imagine how lonely he must be? His world is nothing but darkness, he's lonely and helpless, rarely understood by others, and he can only imagine what looks at him differently. This is all unfortunate, but fortunately, he has good friends like Jiang Nan (who's been playing with him since childhood) and Xiao Zha (the pet dog). They accompany him in his lonely world.
Every story of a pet and their owner in the movie is touching. I think the one that best embodies loneliness is Yu and his pet cat, 'An Ji La'. After Gao Ming's divorce, his ex-wife took their daughter to live abroad, and he was left alone in the city. A small detail in the movie shows that he has no friends, which is when he went to rescue a dog, 'Baton', and most people helped, but Gao Ming didn't appear, and there were no friends of his in other parts of the movie. Even the scenes of him calling friends don't appear, indicating that he has very few friends, or even none.
His inner loneliness must be great. In such a lonely and long life, the only one who accompanies him is An Ji La. Besides companionship, An Ji La also plays a more important role, which is that with An Ji La, he has a topic to talk about when he chats with his daughter abroad. Like he takes care of his daughter, he takes care of An Ji La, building a home for An Ji La, feeding and sleeping with him, and letting An Ji La purr. In this way, he accompanies An Ji La, and An Ji La accompanies him. When he misses his daughter, An Ji La brings him comfort.
As people grow older, the feeling of loneliness increases. When you get older, your children work abroad and don't have time to spend with you, and your loneliness becomes even more serious. At this time, the only person you can talk to is the cat or dog who has always accompanied you. They won't leave you if you don't have money, they won't leave you on a rainy day because of arguments, and they won't scold you for making a small mistake. Instead, they bring you vitality and happiness.
Sometimes, I wonder, what kind of pet should I get? This question has been torturing me, and I still haven't figured it out. However, I hope to have many pets, watching them play and frolic, which will be very lively.
