Copenhagen, Denmark: First Meeting of Two Giant Pandas

On April 10th, at the panda house in Copenhagen Zoo, Denmark, two giant pandas, 'Xing Er' (male) and 'Mao Er' (female), had their first meeting after the interval barrier was raised in their enclosure.
On that day, the two giant pandas 'Mao Er' and 'Xing Er', who came to Denmark as Chinese visitors, had their first meeting and close contact at Copenhagen Zoo. The staff will closely monitor them in the coming days in the hope that they will successfully complete natural mating. 'Mao Er' and 'Xing Er' arrived in Denmark in April 2019. Queen Margrethe II inaugurated the panda house at Copenhagen Zoo on April 10th, 2019, and formally launched the Sino-Danish Giant Panda Protection Research Cooperation Project.
