Beijing Wild Animal Park: Close Encounter with Nature and Wild Animals – A Child's Favorite
In the suburbs of Beijing, Daxing District, there is a wild animal park called Beijing Wild Animal Park, which is a rival to the Beijing Wild Animal Park in Badaling. Last spring, with my wife and grandson, we spent a day playing there, and the child was very happy.

Beijing Wild Animal Park is located in the vast forest of Beijing Daxing District, which is a large-scale natural ecological park integrating animal observation and protection, wild animal domestication and breeding, and science popularization education. The park covers an area of 3600 mu and gathers 200 kinds of rare wild animals from all over the world, with more than 10,000 heads (pieces).

After the car entered the scenic area, we bought tickets for the self-driving animal grazing area and drove along the self-driving route into the park. If you don't want to drive to see the animals, you can take the small train in the park, but you may see fewer scenery and animals. The grazing area is more than 1300 mu and the route is 10 kilometers long. This place is a hilly area, which is artificially constructed. The hillside has lush green grass, and the trees are dense. The road twists and turns through the hills, sometimes hidden and sometimes exposed. Every time you turn a hillside (actually a mound), you will see a different animal. There are many animals inside, including lions, tigers, leopards, black bears, and some ferocious animals, as well as some animals from the African grasslands, most of which I can't even name. The animals are mostly kept in designated areas and are far from the road. This arrangement allows them to avoid disturbance and also protects the safety of tourists. It is not allowed to get off the car on the road, and there are staff members supervising along the way. Although there are not many cars, they often urge you to drive forward and don't let you stop, probably for fear of traffic congestion. Overall, the feeling is pretty good, very fresh. There were a few llamas that ran to the road, and one even stretched its head into the car window, startling the grandson. After turning around, we finally passed a small forest and returned to the park's parking lot inside the park.

After parking the car, we entered the park entrance. Here is a walking observation area, where tourists can play with docile animals such as deer, sika deer, and squirrels. In the theme animal pavilion, you can also observe many rare animal populations, including giant pandas and golden monkeys. We walked from the south line to the east and looked around while walking.

At the end of the observation area is a parking lot, and you can take the park's bus to the animal experience area for close contact with large wild ferocious animals. Anyway, it's spent money, it's better not to go if you don't want to, but the queue was less than half an hour, and finally we got on the bus. The park's buses have two types: one is a big bus, and the other is a cage car. The cage car feels more exciting, but it seems there is no choice, when entering, a big bus came over and took us up and left. It's a bit regretful. The animals in the experience area are not as lazy as the animals in the grazing area, lying in the iron wire on the side of the road, they are more active, even blocking the road. Tourists can hand-feed lions, tigers, and bears. But the big bus cannot do it, and the cage car can.

After taking the bus from the experience area, we walked back along the north line of the observation area, and there were many animals to see along the way. Someone fed the giraffe, and staff members gave the elephant a bath. I heard there were also animal performances, but we missed it. For families with children, it is recommended to inquire about the time and see if there is.
From the north line back is the park entrance, if you don't want to play anymore, you can drive home. It feels that this grazing-style zoo is more interesting than the animals kept in cages in the city center, and it is closer to nature and wild animals. The overall experience is pretty good, children may be happier, this place is a good place for parent-child tours and self-driving tours.
