My Handsome Puppy QianQian - Just Arrived
The summer before my daughter went to college, we had a small, dark brown, curly-haired teddy dog in our family. It was only a month old when we first brought it home;
I was very opposed to owning a dog. Growing up in the countryside, many families, including my uncles and aunts, didn't have dogs. However, in rural areas, many people did have dogs. Whenever we passed by houses with dogs or went to visit them, the dogs would rush out and bark fiercely, as if to say, 'Don't you dare come onto my territory! If you show any fear, they might even come out and bite you.' When I was a young boy, my brother was bitten by a dog, and I still have a lingering fear whenever I think about it;
My father-in-law, who served in the army before transferring to a factory job, was an avid hunter, and naturally, he loved dogs. Perhaps influenced by my father-in-law, my daughter has always loved dogs and frequently asked to get a little dog. However, I never agreed. In my opinion, pet dogs are still dogs, they are animals, and I couldn't imagine living with an animal in a small space like an apartment;
Unfortunately, my daughter and her husband preempted me and found one online before driving to Changsha to buy it. Because its fur was all in small, circular curls, they named it 'QianQian' (). I thought about my daughter's tough senior year and college entrance examination period, plus the fact that she was living with us in a city where she wasn't familiar with, and she was quite lonely. So, I gave in to her wish, and I didn't say anything. Seeing this newly-born, weak little dog, I worried about it and told my daughter, 'If you bring it home, you must take good care of it.' My daughter didn't disappoint me; she researched online and meticulously cared for it, feeding it, grooming it, washing its paws after returning from outside, and training it with words. As QianQian grew bigger and bigger, it became a cute little dog;
