Shinhan News Agency (reporter Kim Min-hee) Spring is the season of life germination, Shanghai Zoo once again welcomed new life. Yesterday, the park revealed that the black-backed wolf family has added a pair of twins, and the cubs are currently in good condition.
Currently, Shanghai Zoo has 2 pairs of adult black-backed wolves on display. On January 4th, the feed staff discovered one of the black-backed wolf pairs was mating, and the next day they mated successfully. The female black-backed wolf's gestation period is about 60 days, and the feed staff prepared hay in advance and laid it inside the concrete ducts for the wolf mother to keep warm.

On March 2nd, the wolf mother successfully gave birth to two black-backed wolf cubs. The black-backed wolf mother is very strong and takes care of the cubs without fail, and the two cubs are currently in good condition. Sometimes, tourists will see the fluffy cubs peeking and exploring inside the exhibition area, which is very cute.
Black-backed wolves have long legs but small stature. Their resemblance to dogs, fox-like muzzles, and agile movements make them belong to the Canidae family. Their back is covered in black and silver fur, which extends from behind the neck, hence their name.
