International Panda Junior Family Arrives in Chengdu
On the eve of the upcoming Spring Festival, Chengdu welcomed another cultural exchange event. 'Panda Junior' Global Chase 'Belt and Road' Large-Scale Public Welfare News Relay Action' Third Season Winter 'Friend Ambassadors Reunion China Year' Activity is about to begin.
This 'Friend Ambassadors Reunion China Year' activity invited seven international Panda Junior families from Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, and Brazil to spend Chinese New Year in Chengdu.
During the event, they will experience the culture of the Tianfu Mountains, feel the Chinese traditional customs; and together with Chengdu's paired volunteer families, they will shop for New Year's goods, eat a bustling New Year's dinner; to the historical street area of Zizhu Lane to feel the Chinese New Year, visit the Wuhou Temple Grand Fair to experience authentic Chengdu New Year flavor; check in the Panda Base; to the Tianfu Lotus Garden to explore the origin of 'Chengdu' and visit the Qingcheng Mountain Daoist culture, pay homage to Dujiangyan.
Searching for 'Belt and Road' countries, international youth jointly paint a beautiful blueprint
It is understood that the 'Panda Junior' Global Chase 'Belt and Road' Large-Scale Public Welfare News Relay Action' has been held for three seasons since March 3, 2017, and has been listed as a key project of the National CTV Bureau's 'Silk Road Film Bridge Project' for three consecutive years, and won the China Foreign Languages Bureau's 'Outbound Communication Top 10 Cases in 2018' award.
The previous three summer actions had a total of 130 Panda Juniros selected from Chongqing,, , , provinces and cities, divided into Zhenghe Team, Marco Polo Team, and Zhangqian Team, explored 'Belt and Road' countries along the line, and conducted various cultural exchange activities in nearly 30 countries, and international youth jointly painted 'Belt and Road' beautiful blueprint.
The event not only allows 'Panda Juniros' to 'go out', but also actively 'comes in'. In 2018 and 2019 Spring Festivals, 20+ foreign Panda Juniros and their families were invited to spend Chinese New Year in Chengdu and feel the charm of the Tianfu culture; deeply experience various application scenarios of Tianfu Greenway, and feel the new changes of Chengdu building a beautiful and livable park city.
International Panda Juniros Arrive in Chengdu to Get Closer
On January 22nd, to warmly welcome friends from afar, Chengdu volunteers and Panda Juniros were waiting at the airport early in the morning. The first family to arrive at Shuangliu International Airport was a family from Slovenia's Ljubljana and two families from County Galway, Ireland.
For this event, the Ljubljana Panda Junior family was full of expectations, as soon as they got off the plane, they began to learn Chengdu dialect from Chengdu paired volunteer families, and said 'Chengdu, we are here', quickly narrowed the distance between them.
County Galway's Mayor, Mr. Kupperd, Michael Thomas, led a team of two families to Chengdu for visiting and interviewing. Mayor Kupperd, Michael Thomas, was very interested in Chinese culture, and his son was eagerly looking forward to the pandas in Chengdu. County Galway was one of the cities visited by Panda Juniros in the 2019 summer action, and the mayor also received Panda Juniros from Chengdu in the summer. He believes that Chengdu Panda Juniros are very outstanding.
