He knelt down, took out a small shovel, carefully dug up the small pile of soil, then took out a bottle of white powder, quickly sprinkled on the nest. As of now, Xianghang Sub-district has processed more than 300 nests along the main street of its jurisdiction.

Red fire ants are a harmful species that has invaded many districts outside the island of our city in recent years, not only harm agricultural production, and will panic out of the nest to attack people and livestock. In the early years, Xianghang had many red fire ant biting events every year.
Every year, Xianghang District’s agricultural department will allocate a sum of funds to guide townships and towns to eliminate red fire ants, and the highway department is responsible for the maintenance and elimination of the road sections.
‘Red fire ants have two active periods a year, one is the spring breeding season, one is the winter foraging season.’ Xianghang Rural Committee Forestry and Water Technology Promotion Center Manager Ye Mingxin said, this period is the peak of red fire ant mating season, very active, this period is the best time to exterminate.
