Large Numbers of Migratory Birds Arrive at Shiyan River Wetland
It's spring with grass sprouting and birds flying, coinciding with the migratory season of. Recently, staff members of the Shiyan River Wetland Park Administration photographed a large number of foraging at Hongya Mountain Reservoir and upstream river channels. Waterbirds leisurely strolled here and there, and soared overhead, with birds chirping, making the most of the spring season.









Since March, with the warming of the weather, (Snow Goose), (White-tailed Eagle), (Sanderling), (Grey Crane), (Red-crested Pochard), (Black-crowned Night Heron) and other waterbirds have begun their migratory journeys. As an important resting stop on two major bird migration routes – Central Asia and East Asia-Australia, the Shiyan River Wetland provides excellent feeding and habitat for passing migratory waterbirds. A large number of stop here to feed and replenish energy every year.
According to monitoring and surveys conducted by the Shiyan River Wetland Park Administration, since March 15th, the waterbird population and number in the Shiyan River Wetland have increased significantly. The number of passing and migratory, such as (Snow Goose), (Grey Crane), (Greater White Egret), and (Brown Gull), reached over 10,000.
