After 111 Days of Nurturing, Six Swans Take Flight for Their First Northern Migration
On November 24th last year, the Swan family abandoned Nanfei due to a weak baby, and stayed in Jinzhou for the winter with it. During this period, the swans received meticulous care from the people of Jinzhou. After spending 111 days in the rain, snow, wind and frost, six swans took off yesterday at 7 am on Dulong River and bid farewell to Jinzhou, embarking on their northward migration. On December 13th, Jinzhou enjoyed a sunny morning. Deep within, the reporter felt a strong urge to observe the swans. The rosy dawn dyed the surface of Dulong River, and the swans dancing charmingly in the lens were breathtaking. At 7 o'clock, the six swans spread their wings and soared into the air, circling gracefully before saying goodbye to the 111 days they spent with Jinzhou. The formerly weak, difficult-to-travel swan baby had grown up and become robust. Seeing this, Old Dreamer, who had always accompanied and protected them, had tears in his eyes. Swans' first winter in Jinzhou added endless joy to this city. On January 5th, 2020, volunteers began to wear ‘Jinzhou Wild Animal Protection Supervision Officer’ armbands for patrol, and the number of swans in Jinzhou increased to seven.
On January 17th, 2020, the newspaper article ‘Spring Festival is Approaching, Also Time to Set Off Fireworks – Please Give the Swans a Quiet Space’ drew the attention of the city’s main leaders and instructed to increase publicity efforts to guide citizens to set off fireworks mindfully.
On March 3rd, 2020, the 100th day of the swans’ stay in Jinzhou, the total number of swans reached 38.
On March 13th, 2020, the Swan family happily migrated north.

The sickly swan baby experienced the warmth of home, and the Swan family felt a city full of love and warmth, with a temperature.
Looking back at these 111 days, there is really much emotion. During the swans’ stay in Jinzhou, Jinzhou volunteers became their steadfast protectors. They didn’t fear the wind and rain, snow and frost, without complaint and regret, accompanying them day and night. Some of them even spent New Year’s Eve with the swans.

Swans’ first winter in Jinzhou was indeed a test for Jinzhou people in wildlife protection. Fortunately, with the tireless dedication of volunteers, the support of the Forest and Grassland Bureau, the Public Security Bureau, the Park and Mountain New District departments, the people of Jinzhou brilliantly completed this answer sheet.
