The Most Vibrant Commercial Street in Nepal's Capital, Filled with Chinese Elements, is Known as 'Little Hong Kong'

In Kathmandu's most bustling street, Tamil Street, is a favorite among backpackers from all countries. Here, you can see shops with Chinese signage everywhere. Merchants speak broken Chinese, and small supermarkets are piled with Chinese goods. Chinese restaurants are also plentiful. The foreign merchants here almost all know some Chinese, and many people take pride in speaking Chinese.

They are either local merchants or Chinese merchants who have opened stores directly.
Today, the Tamil district is a gathering place for foreign tourists, and the narrow and bustling alleys showcase the lively side of Kathmandu.
