The Most Vibrant Commercial Street in Nepal's Capital, Filled with Chinese Elements, is Known as 'Little Hong Kong'

Merchants speak broken Chinese, and small supermarkets are piled with Chinese goods. Chinese restaurants are also plentiful. The foreign merchants here almost all know some Chinese, and many people take pride in speaking Chinese.

Within the Tamil district, many shops and restaurants, even small pancake stalls, use Chinese advertising, and there are also Chinese guesthouses and Chinese restaurants, Sichuan cuisine, Lanzhou noodles, Northeast cuisine restaurants are lined up side by side. They are either local merchants or Chinese merchants who have opened stores directly.

Today, the Tamil district is a gathering place for foreign tourists, and the narrow and bustling alleys showcase the lively side of Kathmandu.
