Zhong-Central Grand Canyon (Located in Panan, Zhejiang), Features a 100-Meter Waterfall, a Favorite Tourist Attraction
Having arrived in Panan, Zhejiang, at the renowned AAAA-level scenic area of Wulong Gorge, often referred to as 'Zhong-Central Grand Canyon', it's located at the foot of Jianshan Town, Lou Village, within the northeastern branch of the Daping Mountain range, and the river is the Jiaxi flowing from the Caoye River system.
The mountains and rivers here are unique. Due to its specific geographical location, it has created a distinctive landscape different from the surrounding environment, thus gathering various natural resources such as gorges, waterfalls, lakes, rocks, mountains, and forests. Simultaneously, the presence of well-preserved ancient residences, the Cityshan Ruins archaeological site, and other cultural resources adds features such as wonder, beauty, danger, quietness, and wildness.
Of course, the scenic area is not just about natural and humanistic landscapes; there are also some man-made structures. Overall, there are many places to play. Due to its convenient transportation, it has become a popular summer resort and a good place for spring flower viewing for many people in the East China region.
After entering the main scenic area, from 'Eight Immortals Viewing Pavilion' you go into the Cityshan foot of the Ten Thousand Foot Cliff area, visitors have never been able to fully view the Ten Thousand Foot Cliff. Inside, the cliff face is precipitous, with peaks like sharpened blades, and visitors can hardly walk. It is said that the entire Ten Thousand Foot Cliff trail is 700 meters long, with a cement walkway surface that is over one meter wide, without steps, and is very smooth and solid.
From a distance, it is already spectacular, and the surrounding trail railings are uniquely shaped, also made of steel and cement, and sculpted to look ancient, and it's pleasant to walk among such an environment.
Wulong Gorge got its name because of the five waterfalls resembling a dragon dancing. Its mountains belong to the northeastern branch of the Daping Mountain range, and the Jiaxi River flows from the Caoye River system. The combination of deep ravines, strange rocks, waterfalls, and streams creates a unique mountain landscape, which also earned it the reputation of 'Zhong-Central Grand Canyon'.
The trail is built tightly against the cliff face, with steep rock on one side and a precipitous gorge on the other, providing visitors with a spacious and safe viewing spot. Visitors can confidently stand on the precipitous cliff and enjoy the wondrous 'Elder's Head Cliff', the marvelous 'Cow Legs Pool', 'Double Screen Pools' (Golden Screen Pool, Silver Screen Pool), the mysterious 'Serpent Pool', and the spectacular views of the Ten Thousand Foot Cliff.
Standing in this land with geomantic significance, whether it's the oxygen content in the air or the cool breezes in the hot summer, is quite remarkable. Compared to the scenery of mountains, I personally prefer the water scenery here. After boarding the boat, you will pass through several small bridges, and as you look at the distance, you can see the 'Flying Dragon Falls' cascading down from the top of the mountain, which looks like a dragon in the sky, directly falling down. Looking at 'Dragon Falls' in the distance, many visitors exclaimed, 'It's no worse than Huangguoshu Waterfall, it's really worth coming here!'
After coming down from the trail, you walk through the bottom of the gorge, and there are various ice along the roadside, which are currently being cleaned. Visitors appreciate the beautiful scenery of the Health and Longevity Zone after that, and then exit from the 'Cool Breeze Cave', and can take a sightseeing bus to the next scenic area, 'Double Happiness Arrives' zone.
Standing on this swaying rope bridge, you can not only view the Dragon Falls and the Continuous Dragon Falls at the same time, and there is a small waterfall in the middle of the two waterfalls, resembling a dragon father, dragon mother and dragon son three households, which is also a favorite spot for many people to check in, and many people say that it is worth coming here without regrets!
