Under the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, beside Baishui Lake, there is a newly built Han Tang style grey and white building, echoing the nearby Pipa Pavilion. This place is not only a tourist attraction for Jiujiang citizens, but also has another practical function: it can process 15,000 tons of sewage daily. This is the first newly built sewage treatment plant to officially start debugging, implementing the Yangtze River's comprehensive protection, especially Jiangxi Province's effort to build the most beautiful Yangtze River shoreline.

On March 25th, the activated sludge diluted by the sewage treatment plant entered the biological reaction pool for cultivation and training, marking the entry of Jiujiang's newly built Baishui Lake sewage treatment plant into the commissioning phase and trial operation.

This facility, located on the banks of the Yangtze River and adjacent to the famous Pipa Pavilion, continues the scenic building style, with a factory area of 3,000 square meters, all in uniform Han Tang grey and white buildings.
The Baishui Lake sewage treatment plant is a semi-buried sewage plant, with one level underground and two levels above ground, adopting a 'land-intensive, resource utilization, environmentally friendly' semi-buried sewage system.
'After the sewage treatment plant is completed, all 552 hectares of sewage around the entire Baishui Lake will be diverted, and the sewage will be treated and discharged into the Yangtze River. The treated water will reach Level A, which is equivalent to IV-class water.' Li Longshan, the construction manager for the Three Gorges Group's Yangtze River Comprehensive Protection Jiujiang Baishui Lake Sewage Treatment Plant, said.
And this sewage treatment plant will also be a semi-open area for citizens to relax and play. Previously, all the surrounding life sewage directly entered Baishui Lake. The Baishui Lake sewage treatment plant is linked with the Baishui Lake regional sewage diversion network project and ecological landscape governance, integrating sewage collection and sewage treatment into a comprehensive project, expanding from the single sewage treatment plant mode to a factory-network (lake) shore integrated system, enabling more precise and comprehensive water environment governance. In the future, it will become a beautiful landscape on the Yangtze River's most beautiful shoreline.
