Taiyuan Jinci – Planning Outlines for Tianlongshan and Juewei Mountain Scenic Areas
On March 16th, the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau publicized the "Jingci-Tianlongshan Scenic and Historic Area Overall Planning Outline" and "Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Area Overall Planning Outline". The total area of these two scenic areas will be reduced and slightly increased respectively.
Jingci-Tianlongshan and Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Areas were established in 1987 and 2011 respectively, and are provincial scenic areas with a focus on human and natural resources.
According to the spirit of the "Guidance Opinions on Establishing a Natural Protection Area System with National Parks as the Main Body", based on the tasks of ecological civilization construction in the new stage and the background of high-quality development of cultural and tourism integration, in accordance with the work arrangement of the Municipal Government, the Taigu Ecological and Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone Management Committee, together with the Taigu Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, carried out the compilation of the Jingci-Tianlongshan and Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Area planning outlines.

PlanningBased on the fundamental value of protecting the human and natural landscapes of the scenic area, maintaining the integrity of the regional river and basin ecological unit as the basic criterion, using natural ecological protection space as the base, combined with the development of the West Mountain area and land use status.Determine the core scenic area and the overall boundary of Jingci-Tianlongshan and Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Areas.
The total area of Jingci-Tianlongshan Scenic and Historic Area is defined as 115.38 square kilometers, with a core scenic area of 37.24 square kilometers. The total area has decreased compared to its establishment, mainly reducing areas such as the mountain front town development zone and agricultural production areas, as well as other spaces with less connection to the scenic area.
Juewei Mountain Scenic and Historic Area is located close to the city center, with a pleasant climate, various scenic spots with unique characteristics, convenient access roads, and nearby stalls offering local Shanxi delicacies, making it a good place for tourists to visit and relax. Located 24 kilometers northwest of Taiyuan, it is a scenic spot in the northern suburbs of Taiyuan. Here, the terrain is steep and rugged, with pine trees covering the hills, and spring flowers bloom, and autumn leaves cover the mountains.
