Chinese Tourists' First Experience with Jakarta's Rail Transport - How is the Level?
This is Liu Xiaoshun's Travel and Life Institute.
Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and also the 'first city' of Indonesia, located on the northwest coast of Java Island. From the perspective of population size, Jakarta is also the 'first city' in Southeast Asia, with a total population exceeding 30 million, comparable to Chongqing in China, and even larger than Beijing and Shanghai.
For Chinese tourists, Indonesia, located in Southeast Asia, is a very popular travel destination. When it comes to Indonesia, everyone will first think of Bali, but in fact, with the rapid development of Indonesian tourism, Jakarta, as the capital of Indonesia, is also increasingly attracting the attention of Chinese tourists.
Recently, when I traveled to Indonesia, I specifically spent a few days playing in the capital Jakarta. Although Jakarta has a large population, in fact, Jakarta has not yet truly established a subway or light rail. Their urban rail transportation is similar to ordinary trains, which locals use as daily commuting tools.
To experience the local culture of Jakarta, we specially sought an opportunity to ride their urban rail transportation. In fact, from the ticket purchase and entry process, Jakarta's urban rail is similar to common cities' subway and light rail, but after arriving at the waiting station, it was more like a traditional train station.
Due to Jakarta's relatively underdeveloped basic infrastructure and a large population, the city's traffic congestion is very serious, known as the 'traffic jam city' in Southeast Asia, so their urban rail has brought a lot of convenience. However, Jakarta's urban rail is still traditional trains, and the facilities are relatively outdated.
However, fortunately, Jakarta's urban rail ticket prices are not expensive, usually only 1 yuan RMB, much cheaper than subway and light rail ticket prices, which is why so many people take it. It is said that in the near future, Jakarta will also successively open true subway and light rail.
In the future, would you like to come and take a ride?
