The Silver Beach in Beihai has a silver beach, starting from the east at Dafu Sand and ending in the west at Guantou Ridge, stretching for 24 kilometers.

Compared to other attractions on the Silver Beach, Dafu Sand is a very strange place. Both Beihai residents and foreign tourists are so.

More and more low-key Silver Beach

Silver Beach in Beihai is most known for its white sand at Dafu Sand, described as 'sand whiter than snow,' and it's somewhat resentful.

Dafu Sand was formerly a state-owned salt farm. Because of its obvious distance from the city and the extreme inconvenience of transportation, it was rarely visited, 'hidden in the deep palace and unknown.' Until 2008, Beihai established the Golden Bay Red Tree Forest Ecological Tourism Zone, and the entire Dafu Sand beach became a paid tourist area.

Dafu Sand's beach is very interesting: the sand thickness is only a few centimeters, and below is black mud. If a ball is dropped, the sand will turn gray and black. Surprisingly, after high tide and low tide, the sand is white again like snow.

This characteristic makes it very fragile, but fortunately it has been included in a paid tourist area, and this area is more prominent by the sea mangroves, the beach is just a decoration of the area.

Therefore, Dafu Sand beach has lost its carefree freedom, and it has also been squeezed by mangroves, but overall it's more conducive to its low-key survival.

China Fortune Assurance Story

In 1992, China Fortune Assurance merged into Dafu Sand Salt Farm. In May 2015, the Beihai Municipal Government approved the detailed planning of 'China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City.'

The planning clearly states:China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City is a 'collection of marine silk road historical culture and opportunities to build ecological tourism area into a combination of theme play, cultural tourism, financial business, leisure resort.'Leading Beihai's industrial structure transformation and urban quality improvement through tourism and leisure sports and cultural sports functions, supplemented by functional residential living, to build a southern coastal living model,

The project's total land use is 444.39 hectares (6665.85 mu). The entire Dafu Sand area (except the beach) is included in it.

China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City's planning is grand and exquisitely designed. If it can be completed, a distinctive coastal new city will appear here.

Even more fortunately: there is a new coastal city to the east of Dafu Sand.

Ocean New City, also known as 'Beihai Marine Industry Technology Park,' with a planning area of about 27 square kilometers, is the base for Beihai's 'going to sea' economy. Due to the landing of the Fourth Marine Science Institute, the grade has increased significantly, the reputation has increased significantly, and the attractiveness has increased significantly.

Ocean New City and Dafu Sand are separated by Xicun Port. If a bridge is built, China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City will automatically become the garden and residential base of Ocean New City. The combination of the two will jointly form a combination of tourism, scientific research, industrial development and health care.

China Fortune Assurance confidently stated that it would take 10 years and a total investment of 30 billion yuan to complete the China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City project.

In October 2015, China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City's Phase 1 residential project began sales.

In September 2017, Phase 2 residential project of Phase 1 of Beihai First City began sales.

In September 2018, Phase 3 residential project of Phase 1 of Beihai First City began sales.

The three blocks totaled 3845 sets of 38.5 square meters, basically sold out.

In August 2017, China Fortune Assurance Water Park started construction. The project is planned to invest 120 million yuan and is scheduled to begin operation in October 2018. The Hilton Yilin Hotel, a five-star hotel, was also constructed and put into use before November 2018.

Unfortunately, after completing the main structure, construction began to drag on until March 3, 2020, and when it will be completed is still unknown.

On April 17, 2019, Fortune Weekly published an article 'China Fortune Assurance is on the verge of bankruptcy: debt of 15.58 billion yuan, seeking regulatory oversight to prevent banks from chasing debt.'

Within China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City, a super-large residential area with more than 6600 mu, two new residential projects appeared: Jia Yu Group Golden Bay and Ji Hui Bay, which were split from China Fortune Assurance.

China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City's project total land use is more than 6600 mu, with 2256 mu of residential land accounting for 33.8% and 1030.8 mu of commercial land accounting for 15.5%, totaling 49.3%.

China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City's Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 only used 368 mu, Jia Yu Group and Ji Hui Bay accounted for 1500 mu, and there are less than 400 mu remaining.

China Fortune Assurance Beihai First City's planning has a highly grand sports park, which is still original today. In November 2019, the National Football Field Construction Site Activity and Experience Exchange Event was held in Beihai. Beihai said that it has already planned and started concentrated construction of China Fortune Assurance, Diaoju Port and Dongbu 3 football fields. Among them, China Fortune Assurance Football Field is located in the sports park of China Fortune Assurance First City, but the size is not publicly available.

This marks the gradual withdrawal of China Fortune Assurance as the main developer in the Silver Beach East District.

The story is not over – how to develop the huge commercial land, how to build the sports park, who is responsible for the canal running through the middle of Dafu Sand, all remain a mystery.
