Longtan Inn in Qingyuan Huangchuan Three Gorges: A Destination for Holiday Relaxation
Qingyuan, within Guangdong Province, is a great place for tourism and vacations, especially in summer. It's particularly attractive because Qingyuan has unique primitive forests, mountains, valleys, rivers, and lakes, making it a beautiful natural landscape. Therefore, Qingyuan has always been known as the 'Garden of the Pearl River Delta'. So, in Qingyuan, besides enjoying the mountains and water, we can also have a relaxing time in the hot springs in winter, and celebrate Dragon Boat Festival with dragon boat races. In short, whether it's spring or autumn, it's worth visiting for us.
For backpackers, Qingyuan City is a great place for tourism. Its quiet mountain and water culture, as well as its long history and culture, are worth exploring and discovering.If you don't usually pay much attention to Qingyuan, you probably won't know much about it. In fact, Qingyuan has 5A-level tourist attractions, namely the Lianzhou Underground River. Besides that, it also has some famous tourist attractions, such as the Liannan Thousand-Year Yao Village, Huangchuan Three Gorges, Qingxin Wenmin Hot Spring, and the Yongjin Street Shaolin Temple. When visiting, we can take a boat to admire the scenery on both sides and admire the waterfalls in the mountains. It's a great place for tourists who like mountain and water culture.

I remember when we went to Huangchuan Three Gorges in January 2018. To be honest, it was quite unforgettable because we set off from Dongguan, and it was relatively easy to drive on the highway. However, there was a 15-kilometer road. Backpackers don't like driving on small roads, especially at night, so we were a little nervous when driving, so we chose to stay at the Longtan Inn near Huangchuan Three Gorges. If you drive by yourself, it's still better to go during the day.

When we arrived at Longtan Inn, it was around 8 pm. Because of the long distance, we didn't eat anything. After arriving at the scenic area, we parked the car and luggage, and then went to the inn to order food. From Longtan Inn, there are some local residents who run restaurants. Because it was a tourist off-season, it wasn't very crowded, but the food was still quite fresh, all grown at home, and raised fish, etc.
You can also admire the Yao ethnic group performances at Longtan Inn, such as the classic bamboo pole dance and wooden bag lion dance, which adds some interesting activities to the quiet night. Although it was cold at night, everyone was happy and warm when seeing these performances

Yao ethnic group wooden bag lion dance is a unique prop dance in Guangdong and throughout China. It's a comprehensive art form that integrates singing, dancing, and music, which originated during the Yao ethnic group's long-term migration across thousands of years. It reflects the Yao people's hardworking and brave nature and their desire for a better life.

The night at Longtan Inn is unusually quiet, but after all, it's in the mountains, so there are still many mosquitoes. So, you must close the windows and don't use the air conditioner. In summer, it's the same. During the day, you can take a boat to explore the Huangchuan Three Gorges scenic area. However, if you don't want to go, you can also stroll around Longtan Inn.

The inn's layout is good, you can walk around, take pictures, and take a snap, which is a pretty good attraction in itself. So, some tourists come here to stay for two or three days.

To be honest, if the roads here are better, I believe many more people would consider this place as a good place for vacation. And they could take a boat to explore the Huangchuan Three Gorges scenic area. Such accommodation choices are really great. When traveling, choosing a good place is also a good way to experience nature. It is said that Longtan Inn was originally built from the former Longtan Middle School dormitory, so living here naturally makes you feel satisfied.
Unfortunately, this time because of the weather, we ultimately didn't choose to take a boat to Huangchuan Three Gorges. When I checked the Huangchuan Three Gorges scenic area online, it's really beautiful, and it's one of the must-visit attractions in Qingyuan. If you have the opportunity to go, it's worth spending a vacation there. Although we didn't go to Huangchuan Three Gorges, we went to the Liannan Thousand-Year Yao Village, which was a worthwhile trip.
Finally, let's talk about the truth. Although the experience this time was good, because the road to the destination wasn't that good, it's probably not possible to go again unless we go with friends next time. To be honest, if you want to be quiet and quiet, this choice is not very good.
