The Largest Municipal Area in China, Approximately 13 Times the Size of Shanghai, Attracts Many Tourists

Many tourists know that there are four direct municipalities in China, with Shanghai and Beijing being the most powerful in terms of overall strength, followed by Tianjin and Chongqing.
Although Chongqing is not the economic leader among the four direct municipalities, it has the largest area among them, with an area of 8.2402 square kilometers, which is more than the combined area of Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin, and about 39% of the combined area of the four first-tier cities of North, South, East, and West. Chongqing's area is about 2.33 times the land area of Hainan Province.

The long history of culture, unique mountain terrain, and port culture have left Chongqing with a large number of tourism resources. In recent years, through publicity, more and more tourists have come to Chongqing for tourism. During major festivals, Chongqing is always among the top cities in terms of the cumulative number of domestic and foreign tourists received, surpassing old tourist cities such as Hangzhou and Beijing.

Chongqing has many tourist attractions, such as Jiatianmen and Hongya Cave, which are popular check-in points. The Bazishitou Old Street in Nanan District is also a worthwhile place to visit.
'One street, two harbors, four courtyards, and ten scenic spots' is the core landscape of Bazishitou Old Street. It was once an important water and land commercial port in the Southwest, and there are many exquisite buildings distributed in the street, extending from the relatively flat area along the river to the hillside, which is a climbing experience.
The Bazishitou Old Street now has both modern skyscrapers and large shopping malls built with European-style architectural craftsmanship. There are cafes, restaurants, beverage stores, and cinemas inside.

Sun Jia Huayuan and Wang Jia Diyi are classic buildings in Bazishitou Old Street.
Sun Jia Huayuan combines Chinese and Western styles in its design, and the garden and outside are covered with flowers, and the carvings at the gate are exquisite.

Wang Jia Diyi was built in the early 19th century and is an important historical landmark in the opening of Chongqing. The owner was a famous salt merchant in the Chongqing and Sichuan regions.
Chongqing Wang Jia Diyi is a large rectangular courtyard-style structure, with three-story buildings, each with a gallery, the first floor has a stage, and during festivals or when the owner is celebrating, opera troupes will perform to entertain.
Chongqing is big, from driving from the downtown area to the bottom of some county-level areas takes several hours.
If you set off from Chongqing Jiangbei Airport, it takes at least 4.5 hours by car to reach (Gongtan Ancient Town) in (Yuyong Tujia and Miao Autonomous County), and it will take about a whole day to go and return.
Gongtan Ancient Town is known as 'the hidden gem on the Yangtze River', it is an important commercial port in the Yangtze River and Aba River basin, and has a history of more than a thousand years.

In ancient times, salt industry supported the development of Gongtan. It was also a collection place for various daily necessities.
The ancient town is built on steep cliffs, and various wooden leaning houses are beautiful scenery on the Yangtze River.

The surrounding area of the ancient town is composed of magnificent and dangerous karst mountains.
In the morning, evening, and after the rain, the Yangtze River and Aba River always rise up layer upon layer of mist, and the ancient town is hidden and revealed in the mist, like a dreamlike paradise, which is a water-ink painting that every visitor loves.
