Three Philosophical Short Stories: Expanding Your Mind (Classic)
The Rat in the Jar
One day, a plump rat discovered a jar full of delicious food while foraging. It tried to squeeze in to taste the aroma, but alas, its body was too bulky, and the jar's opening was too small, so it had to give up. Later, the rat deliberately starved itself for three days to slim down, then easily squeezed into the jar. Inside, he feasted and enjoyed the delicious time, and the three days of hunger quickly consumed all the food in the jar. But when it wanted to go out, it found itself with a huge belly and couldn't get out. Reflection:
To have a better life, we strive and sacrifice time and health for money. But money can never buy back youthful time, a healthy body, or family time. In the remaining years, learn to enjoy life, learn to rest, and allow yourself some happy moments. Plainly living
The Olive Tree mocked the Fig Tree:
'Your leaves fall off in winter, a bare, unsightly branch. How unlike my evergreen beauty!'
Shortly thereafter, a heavy snow fell, and the olive tree was covered in green leaves, snow piled up on it.
Finally, the weight broke the branch, and the olive tree's beauty was destroyed. The fig tree, with its leaves already fallen, was light and unburdened, and the snow passed through its branches and fell to the ground, resulting in the fig tree's unscathed survival. Reflection:
Beauty often becomes a burden, and can even cause trouble in survival. It is better to live plainly.
Plainly living is freedom.
So, let go of your vain beauty, and honestly experience simple life, and you will gain more joy. You don't need me to

A man sheltered from the rain under the eaves.
He saw a monk passing with an umbrella and said, 'Master, please enlighten all beings for a while. Teach me how.'
The monk said, 'I am in the rain, you are under the eaves, and under the eaves there is no rain, you don't need me to.'
The man immediately jumped out of the eaves and stood in the rain: 'Now I'm in the rain, please enlighten me!'
The monk said, 'I am in the rain, you are in the rain. I am not drenched by the rain because of an umbrella, you are drenched because you have no umbrella.'
So don't ask me to, find your own umbrella!
He left.
Reflection:
He who helps himself has God to help him. To have a successful life, one must first be responsible for oneself, otherwise no one can help you.
