Why Do We Deserve to Be Parents?

Some say,Once you have a child, you should automatically become a parent,That's not necessarily true,Because becoming a parent isn't just about having a child,Some say,Parents are simply the ones who call out to a child,That's not necessarily true,Because being called a parent isn't a simple title,Some say,Parents are the ones who give a child life,That's not necessarily true,Because giving a child life doesn't mean you're their parent,So then,What gives us the right to be parents?Not because we've had a child,Nor because the child calls us Mom or Dad,We become parents,Often because of responsibility,We have a responsibility to protect our children,This is the sacred duty of a parent,We become parents,More often because of obligation,We have an obligation to raise our children well,This is inevitable for a parent,A good parent,Is never just a biological parent,If a parent doesn't care for a child after bringing them into the world,Such parents are better off not being parents,True parents,Are never just those who call out to a child,If a parent is only critical or complaining,What's the point?So then,What gives us the right to be parents,Based on our sense of responsibility for our children,And our commitment to caring for them,In real life,We become parents,Not based on how many children we have,But on how we treat our children
