Echoes of Books: Liu Haitao—Getting Older
Old,Written by/Read by Liu Haitao
Old, teeth are gone
Let's go, to the countryside
In a countryside with mountains and water, buy a good piece of land
You can plant anything
Nothing can grow, let it be barren
Let the grass grow as high as it wants
Let the flowers bloom as wild as they want
This is our land
Old, can't walk anymore
Go sit by the stream
The sound of flowing water, so many beautiful things and people
Just carried away by it
If you're feeling a little sad
I'll accompany you to be sad
If you miss your first love
Let's hug and reminisce about our first love
Use my toothless mouth to kiss again
Old, we're all old
The wind blows across the sky, carrying clouds
Like blowing away past desires
The twilight descends, dear old woman
I want to sleep next to you
If I die, don't sway my body
Cry until the sun rises
Bury me in, In our own land, and beg
The land will also take you away
We loved the land for a lifetime
If I die, let our bones be bare
Embracing, For ten thousand years, still loving you
