The Wise Book: Test Your Level of Cultivation

People are bound to be talked about when they travel in the world; how could they avoid being spoken ill of by others?
I often encounter people who come to me, saying they've been spoken ill of, demeaned, misunderstood, maliciously slandered, defamed, unfairly criticized, unreasonably demanded upon, harassed, and harmed in various ways.
This is undoubtedly painful, and some people can be so distressed that they feel like they're dying.
However, our cultivation is about transcending this level. In fact,When we encounter slander and defamation, it's precisely when we can truly test the extent of our practice.
It's not a matter of virtue, but a matter of survival. We must be able to remain indifferent, detached from worldly affairs, and unaffected by slander—to treat criticism as a gentle breeze passing by.
Because we live, we will inevitably be slandered and insulted; we will always be unfairly demanded upon and harmed. We cannot escape this.Like swimming in water, we will inevitably get wet, but we can raise our heads and rise above the water's surface, not drowning, and happily enjoy this water sport.
