Don't Let Nihilism Destroy You
As a laid-back young person, it seems to have become a label for many of our generation, but I feel we've been dragged into this feeling of emptiness. I've been pondering a question: if our lives inevitably end and humanity will eventually disappear, will human civilization ultimately cease to exist, why then do we expend so much effort, only to become a pile of dust in the end? It seems to lack all meaning.
I've been struggling with this question for a long time. As someone who enjoys reading, I've been unable to find an answer, and I can only hope to find it in books.
I've read countless books on the meaning of life, and I've realized that this is a fundamental question of human thought. In the past, we attributed meaning to God, but after the Industrial Revolution, science diminished God, but science can't explain this problem. The question returns to ourselves.
Furthermore, this problem is currently unsolvable. So many philosophers haven't been able to answer it, and how can a common person like me find an answer?
This isn't a problem that can be solved by a few individuals; it requires the effort of all humanity.
I realized I had fallen into a hole because I insisted on exploring the highest levels of thought, which only deepened my feelings of emptiness and confusion. Life felt meaningless, with no clear goals.
However, I realized that simply lowering my expectations would resolve everything.
We live to fulfill ourselves. We react to beautiful people, we enjoy delicious food, and we have a need to reproduce – it's simple, but it's real.
We live to experience joy, for ourselves, because of that joy, because of that person, life suddenly becomes full of expectations.
Like the resilience of human nature, regardless of what we do, human nature shines through, just like Wuhan – it may be difficult, but it's not without hope,
I hope there are others out there who grapple with similar questions. Don't always look up at the sky; look down and examine yourself and the world around you.
Rather than fighting against yourself, it's better to live well, enjoy good food, and pursue what you love.
Finally, if you find this helpful, please give it a like and a comment – it's a huge encouragement to me.
We'll see you next time, bye!
